~~Non-DE WM OSGUIs~~ Standalone WMs are basically Gnome3 for neckbeards
this is a shitpost/showerthought. Don't make me shove it on an image. I will if I have to

EDIT : Might as well throw agnosticism in there too.
Nano has already supplanted the great EMacs and Vim as the most popular text editor of all linux distros, for though it has many omissions in functionality it scores over the older, more complete programs in two important respects. First, it is slightly simpler; and secondly it has the text "^ Exit" inscribed in highlighted text on its footer
EDIT : This sees to be going over some people's heads. It's a hitchiker's guide to the galaxy reference.
The Hitchhiker's Guide has already supplanted the great Encyclopaedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions . . . it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects. First, it is slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover.
The continuing adventures of Picard Québécois. He got assimilated, and it only made him dig into his place of origin.
This time, the inspiration came from here :

And as such, the title is taken from that meme, and means "For assimilation in french, you can press the fucking "2""
The text is just the regular "I am Locutus of Borg", but with tabernak , saying "your time with the Stanley Cup is over" and "From now on you will speak Joual".
He's wearing the original hockey mask of Jacques Plante, and is representing Voivod, since they're a fan of when machine meets man.
Semi collaborative meme. I got some advice and encouragement from @[email protected] , @[email protected] , and the enlightened mod @[email protected]. You can see the sausage making/brainstorming process here :

Also, in reference to our much missed PugJesus ...
Explanation : While we like to repeat that Trek has always been woke, some parts of the wardrobe choices have been ... more male gaze motivated instead of solely for female empowerment. Actreses did complain about Bergman's choices and biases more vocally, but always remember your roots kids.
I wanted to back up the specific actress' viewpoints with sources, but the facts aren't so cut and dry, and I cannot verify these statements. The meme does capture the mood about the outfits, while it doesn't necessarily reflect the specific events and actress' viewpoints.
The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.
EDIT : Folks, the reason for the thread isn't just to post the stuff you beat off to in the 90s. I'm not saying don't post it, but like, I'm saying it was NOT a good thing that it happened.
EDIT : Meme made!

I kinda want to make a meme based off this comic :
https://natlib.govt.nz/records/22728118
Transcript from the page itself :
A Muslim woman wearing a burka that covers everything except her eyes watches a girl wearing a bikini and sunglasses; the burka-covered woman is interested that the bikini-girl has 'nothing covered but her eyes' and the bikini girl is interested that the burka woman has 'everything covered but her eyes' and each sympathises that the other lives in 'a cruel male-dominated culture!'
I talked with my wife about how Jeri Ryan was upset that Rick Bergman kept pushing for skintight outfits because he's a pervert, but from my perspective, just like how star trek has always been "woke", star trek has always been run by a pervert; Gene Roddenberry was also a fairly lecherous gentleman; and some cast members of TOS were not very happy with the lengths of skirts... which some feminists point out that the miniskirt was a part of the sexual revolution going on at those times.
But I can't quite mesh the two ideas. Having the images be the same doesn't quite get the pervynes being the same in both eras, making them both the bikini clad one and keeping the wording but changing "male dominated culture" with the names of the producer of the era doesn't seem to gel quite well.
Any ideas?
I'm not asking for anyone to photoshop/gimp anything, just seeing if anyone can help guide the meme to crystalise the idea.
EDIT : Maybe it should be the salary meme?
Jeri : I'm sick of these skintight outfits!
Grace : At least you can sit down without showing off your pants
T'pol and Hoshi in decontamination shower : You guys get to wear clothes?
Do your workouts. Make sure you get the correct nutrition (and sleep) as that's what makes up (at least) the other half of the equation. Get the right number of calories and macros in order to achieve your goals.
I logged in and instead of having a quick select for time format, it said "YOU HAVE A NEW MESSAGE FROM LICHESS"
Oh shit, did I get a reprimand for sandbagging??
"UPDATE YOUR MOBILE APP"

CONTEXT :
The Vancouver Canucks have had riots for the 1994 and 2011 Stanley Cup finals, because the city can't handle success.

I made this meme now because the Argentinians are doing the same fucking thing. Also, @[email protected] is insisting on being the representative for all the salty argentinians in the fediverse and has been posting shit all day.

I hate gnome and how it looks and how it works. I'm glad that there is something which is that drastically different for people that enjoy it.
What's a good word for this?
András István Arató is the real name for "Hide the Pain Harold", who is a Hungarian retired electrical engineer and model. Given his age and location, he probably read Jucika.
This is basically a showerthought for the 3 people that read the Jucika posts in [email protected]
for one user, one machine. nothing fancy. just something that I can store passwords in. I've heard freakout problems about a lot of different ones.
EDIT : I'm on debian. 13.
