Miller Labels Leftists a “Cancer” That World Must “Root Out” in Fascistic Speech

cross-posted from: https://news.abolish.capital/post/65164

In a set of fascistic speeches on Thursday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House power broker Stephen Miller, and other top Trump administration officials labelled the political left as a “terrorist” threat and vowed to use all of the tools at their disposal to systematically destroy left-wing groups. Representatives from 67 countries gathered in the U.S. on Thursday for a meeting…

Here in the United States, we have taken the necessary and essential action of formally recognizing left-wing violence as a form of political terrorism that is a direct threat to our national security and survival of our republican form of government,

Oddly telling how he doesn't say "a threat to our democracy".

left-wing violence

Isn't it interesting how they never give actual examples when they say shit like this? You'd think it would be trivial since it's such a pressing issue.

16

He's a white supremacist fascist piece of shit so he means minorities not imprisoned and enslaved & fair elections where one person holds one vote not weighted by gerrymandered counties or low population states when referring to left-wing violence.

10

Isn't it interesting how they never give actual examples when they say shit like this?

Yeah, you know! Left wing violence! Like that gang that wears the masks, always going around dogpiling and point-blank-executing U.S citizens at home, in church, on the street... That kinda violence? Pfffft.

Republican policy is exceedingly simple and always boils down to one simple statement: "It's okay when we do it."

Just for perspective, I learned in American public school in the 1990s that the US is a democratic republic, not a democracy. This is correct, even though these rectal tumors are weaponizing it.

3

A democratic republic is a flavour of democracy, just like a constitutional monarchy is.

9

Yes, it's nominally supposed to be, but it lets you put the emPHAsis on the other syllABle so that when you want it to become less of a democratic republic and more of a Republican White-Christofascist Theocracy it doesn't sound like such a drastic change because it's still got the same word in it.

3
kreskinreply

No I dont think it is. How often does what the people want happen in congress? like 0-1% of the time right? studies have shown this. We all need to stop pretending this is a school house rock episode. Neither political party cares about their voters issues. This is not a democracy. We are ruled by people accountable to rich donors, and thats that.

0

The Republican party have been using that line to foster anti-democratic sentiment for decades. My trumper dad is literally at the point where he has told me, "we don't want democracy. Democracy means 'mob rule'".

4

Red state education? The US is a representative democracy. The word "democracy" does not automatically imply direct democracy.

The magats intentionally play these childish word games so they can justify their authoritarian, anti-American wet dreams.

2
ZMoneyreply
lemmy.world

I don't actually think so. There are democratic elements but the president isn't elected by popular vote. There's universal suffrage but in practice a large percentage of the population is disenfranchised. There's no power of recall in most instances of public office. Then there are the practicalities of running for office which only allows for a small elite... at what point do you still get to call this a democracy given all of its republican and oligarchic features?

1

How is that any different from any other democracy? The term was birthed in Athens where only free men could vote and in practice the oligarchy held must of the power. There's always been a hypocrital element to the word.

That doesn't mean we should surrender to magat word games.

1

It's actually an original of mine. I used it so often, i can't even remember on which platform i used it first... Recently i updated it with the Italian flag.

Let's emphasize the fact that he is not saying people who march around carrying rifles and machine guns intimidating Americans in their hometowns. Nor is he talking about people who commit mass shootings. Or people who pollute the air, water, and soil that we need to survive. No, because I'm not a dipshit that needs to both sides this.

Because even if I hadn't been paying attention to both parties for 20+ years and knew beyond question that one party was way, way, way , way, way, way, way more capable and willing to vote in favor of average Americans, I still wouldn't be stupid enough to both sides this because one side is just so obviously better than the other, and in the current political climate, and for the foreseeable future, one of those two sides will be in power at any given time.

TL;DR - Take this trash both sides garbage to a platform stupid enough to fall for it.

In 1944, the US Office of Strategic Services published the Simple Sabotage Field Manual; a document aimed at the unhappy citizens of fascist nations, to instruct them on how to sabotage the economic and military capacity of their own nation. I'm not saying that Oskar Schindler ever read it, but the movie line "Stern, if this factory ever produces a shell that can actually be fired, I'll be very unhappy" is definitely in the same spirit.

One need not work in weapons manufacturing, either. The manual suggests sabotage techniques for every kind of worker. For example, office workers could help decrease their fascist nation's economic power by insisting that every decision be made by committee, slowing output.

The manual is fascinating in that it's focused on people who are afraid to be "heroes", instead suggesting sabotage methods that entail little to no personal risk.

https://archive.org/details/SimpleSabotageFieldManual/page/n2/mode/1up

16

Yes. Large-scale sabotage is, well, large-scale. And it tends to be investigated until the saboteur is found. Whereas a widespread movement of many small individual acts of sabotage can often be harder to detect as having been sabotage at all. For example, clogging a coolant system with adulterants that are plausible to have found their way in through laxity in operation, so that when the machine it cools goes kaput, a post-mortem makes it look like the work of wear-and-tear, operator error and insufficient maintenance. Such a saboteur can go undiscovered and live to sabotage another day.

And the same principle applies to non-mechanical sabotage. As mentioned with "every decision by committee", it can often be done entirely in the open and still be undetectable as sabotage.

Has the US forgotten already that Hitler looked at the US race laws with admiration in Mein Kampf?

This isn't new. This cancer has never been excised, just bandaged over because it became inconvenient to capitalist interests at the time.

As far as I can see, this shift back towards fascism in the US is the response to the rise of China as an economic and military power.

Some of this rise is attributable to the decline of favour of fossil fuels, and China's position as market leader in solar and wind generation technology. This is why Trump has a hate for renewable energy, and such a throbbing micro-peen for oil. The US is being left behind, fast.

Republicans don't even know what a conservative is because they call themselves conservative but don't practice conservatism.

Interestingly, many also call themselves Christian without following the teachings of Christ.

3

Actually, what's happening right now in the US would indeed have been stopped with votes. You don't vote to make the perfect world, you vote to minimize the damage. You can do all those other things that you imagine are more impactful the other 364 days of the year in addition.

What confuses me about this administration is that they seem to be aiming to make any political belief or action that does not support them worthy of a lengthy prison sentence.

... but [REDACTED] is also a lengthy prison sentence. So they've removed the incentive to not [REDACTED].

In other words... why design a system where your opponents have nothing to lose? They will be pushed towards acting like they have nothing to lose.

37
lemmy.world

Because they want an excuse to implement martial law that their base will accept. An "enemy within" that turns violent is exactly the pretense they're stoking for this, even if it's obvious they invented everything that caused it.

26
lemmy.world

I see this sentiment a little more frequently than I see the following that I'll paraphrase:

"They're doing this to egg on a response [so we should not give them what they want by pushing back]" is an accidental or intentional PsyOp campaign.

If your opponent threatens to fight you if you fight back, you would choose to surrender before the fight begins?

It's an incredibly effective PsyOp when arguably the largest downside of anti-MAGA people is their rampant apathy, and that sentiment is like gasoline to a fire. "Oh, the enlightened response is to stay home like I did in 2024? Sick."

13
DarkFuturereply

If your opponent threatens to fight you if you fight back, you would choose to surrender before the fight begins?

Nah, but we should wait until we know a democratic method (voting) won't work to remove the fascists. Once we cross that line, then we can resort to the actual fighting back.

Because the best case scenario here is that they want us to actually fight back so they can impose martial law, but we don't, then we win by voting them out without any widespread violence and they never got to play their martial law card.

If it doesn't work, and we realize they've corrupted the electoral process and stolen an election, then we grab our pitchforks (guns) and properly do what a bunch of inbred redneck traitors failed to do on Jan 6, because they're stupid and of course they didn't have any semblence of an actual plan.

2

"We should wait until it is too late. That will be the perfect time to act. Just a little longer..."

Okay, if you say so. Again, accidental or intentional PsyOp.

2

But "let's not oppose them because they want opposition" is playing more into their hands than opposing them is. I get it's a Lose-lose but let's not go for the Lose because we don't want to lose.

1

Of course oligarchs are going to oligarch and at the end of the day there's no war but the class war but wealthy Americans specifically set out to fund think tanks to shift American politics to the right.

I feel like it's important they own this, blaming foreign interference gives the domestic ruling class a pass they shouldn't get.

All the "best" conservative arguments are just repurposed left-wing arguments that someone ran ctrl+f and replaced each identifying term with it's counterpart.

The infuriating part is that the reason it works is because left-wing arguments are fundamentally structured better and are more compelling. At some point in the past, a lefty made that argument to the right-winger and they could feel that they were losing the argument, so they quietly adopted the aesthetic of the same argument and later deployed it like they came up with it themselves.

It's why every right-wing argument has to construct a fiction where their enemy already holds all the power and has been in control for decades. Everyone can intuitively feel that they're being scammed by an unfair system that's rigged for the benefit of the wealthy. All right-wingers have to do is convince people that the structure of society can't be blamed on the people with the power to shape it. They just need people to blame someone they've already been convinced to hate. Immigrants, minorities, queers, and anyone else who would tell them who their actual enemies are.

8

One easy way to tell the difference is that one makes their accusations based on documented facts and actions. The other makes their accusations based on the nature of the human being in question.

Additionally, that perceived nature is usually a caricature of the actual nature in the first place.

2

It would be wild if the left could actually be as radical as they claim. America might not be so screwed up if they were.

These are the episodes that we’re talking about, where we have had repeated, direct, violent attacks on federal law enforcement in order to veto the ballot box with violence.  And the leftist justifies this violence to himself by saying that they alone are the arbiters of what is right or wrong – not the law, not history, not civilization, not public opinion, and certainly not God.  The leftist assumes for himself judge, jury, executioner.

It’s always projection with these clowns.

Authoritarianism is an admission of abject weakness.

White supremacists are the weakest and most brittle snowflakes.

A healthy, broadly educated population, which feels safe and secure, is incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative and authoritarian ideologies.

They need you to be sick, stupid, and scared.

26

This wasn't just Stephen Miller as this article makes it sound. The conference was convened by Marco Rubio, and he also used fascist rhetoric.

He called leftists “an encroaching darkness” and “the enemies of civilization”.

Rubio also called the left terrorists:

Rubio also attempted to link disparate groups together. “Iranian proxy networks”, he said, “are increasingly intimately tied to leftist militant groups around the world”. “We have no choice but to confront this menace together. We will either cooperate across our borders, or the terrorists will continue to exploit the gaps between them."

This is from another article on the conference, from The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/16/political-violence-event-trump-marco-rubio

Between this and Trump's recent claims that the USA doesn't have the ability to secure its elections against Chinese interference, the regime seems to be making a case for cancelling the midterm elections and possibly arresting Democratic "terrorists".

All while even right-wing democrats get called "left-wing" by these fascists, for not being sufficiently right-wing enough.

What I wouldn't give for an opportunity to encounter Stephen Miller in a dark alley with no witnesses.

19

Who knows, maybe one of his gigolos will be feeling particularly brave one evening.

Americans will listen to this and then just drive to their shitty jobs they hate like everything is normal. They don't fucking care.

That's basically the average the country is left with between the decent people and the tens of millions who voted for idiotic racist rapist fascism three times in a row.

It's like a third don't care, a third do care, and a third are enthusiastically in favor.

13
lemmy.ca

A third “do care” as long as “caring” requires literally no real effort, risk, or sacrifice on their part. They care performatively, which is as good as not caring at all.

Edit: lol the meme generator's US flag drop-in only has 49 stars

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missouruh.

Alternatively, the meme generator is from between July 4, 1959 and July 3, 1960.

Quit your bitching and state how you’re helping. You keyboard warriors are fucking annoying, man.

-1

US Americans, especially white US Americans, are incapable of doing anything because a violent revolution of their state is against their material interests and they know it. This is why settler US Americans are not part of the global proletariat. For the global proletariat violent revolution is a either a side step in material reality or a benefit but the settler US Americans, like Israelis, benefit materially from their state via subsidy and sharing in the global extraction from the empire.

You don't even know if he's American or not.

And even if he is, what difference does it make? You're in a Lemmy comment section. People are going to write what they're thinking. Even if they don't, this sort of thing will still be in their heads. Which you can't even blame anyone for considering how impotent the masses are in the US. Thoughts like these are perfectly understandable regardless of who it's coming from.

I am American, I was making fun of the keyboard warrior I replied to, and Poe's Law is way too fucking strong in this space. 🙄

2

Yes, my point was more that you being or not being American is irrelevant in this context, considering the USA's status as the global hegemond (thereby causing everyone to have a stake in it regardless). My thoughts still stand.

No, they’re not “understandable”.

people are going to write what they’re thinking

And I’ll keep telling them how much of a useless fuck they are when, they too, aren’t putting their fucking necks out on the line to stem this.

2

Do you care to explain exactly why it's not understandable?

In any case, you're getting angry at the wrong people. This is counter-productive.

-2

It’s not that I don’t care. I just need to exhaust all alternatives before I simply accept that my family likely dying is the only option.

3

who would do it? Except for Luigi Mangione, all the assassination attempts and violence are by republicans. Thats the thing, there is no resurgence of left wing violence whatsoever. The American left is utterly placid, even the far left. At best they chant and hold signs, where they are told, without causing public disturbance or affecting traffic, peacefully. I imagine some kids somewhere have slashed some cop tires once or twice, and thats about it.

4

He seems like someone who's death will be recorded. You know those drinks being saved for when tRump kicks it? I bet at least a few are for when Miller finally gets his.

Hope Miller ending will ressemble Mussolini. Can't wait to spit on his hanging corpse

15

He can start by accepting my challenge to a fist fight.

14

It's just a new/different version of the tired trope that the black kid in the hoodie is dangerous- BE SCARED OF THE BLACK KID IN THE HOODIE !!!!!

Yet it is almost always the white man in the suit that is going to either rob you or kill you.

You know, I've always been out of tune a bit with my country, but the past decade -, after a couple decades of strong media gaslighting - has been surreal to experience. It's crazy how well the propaganda has worked. So many things (and people) that I had previously thought were illegal and/or morally abhorrent seem to just be accepted.

13

Yeah, I know people will say "It's been happening this whole time maaaan"

But for real, it feels overnight, watching how quickly all of this "That doesn't happen in this country." Piles on at once...

I mean heck, 2020 feels like it was a year ago, and things sucked really bad, but it's crazy how much "flooding the zone" with bullshit really manufactures a sort of resigned compliance.

We need to be pushing back at every turn. Even though it's exhausting. I myself have been (respectfully) badgering my lawmakers to strike down these Internet ID bills, for instance.

Unfortunately.for us, in a fascist dictatorship that is as well armed as our, it is incredibly unlikely for a local revolution to succeed. Its almost always external forces that allow a regime of this caliber to be toppled.

External forces are already working on that. We still have a responsibility to resist. They do this because they believe they can afford the consequences.

Make it expensive for them.

2

If you think im suggesting it is futile and to roll over, you have wildly misunderstood.

0

This dude thinks he's in a movie and he's agent Smith telling everybody that disagrees with him that they're a virus. Smfh. Congruent absolute loser behavior.

11

A great example of accusation in the mirror technique from alt right play book.

We all know which group is more similiar to an opportunistic organism that tries to forcefully spread everywhere, even at the expense of every other being in the system.

10

If you don't like what they do you are left wing. Pretty simple concept for really simple minds like theirs.

6

That little shrieking pussy won't do anything himself. In fact, the little dweeb is hiding out on a military base last I heard. Because of the fear of chalk.

I thought Miller was a beer, but apparently it's also a "White House Deputy Chief of Staff", whatever that is. What does that person do? It sounds like a glorified HR title for an insecure person.

4

Chief of staff basically is the ring leader who coordinates all the other flunkies in the cabinet.

2

The latest episode of This American Life is about this. It's really fucking scary those protestors got 30 years for moving boxes while the capitol protestors got a slap on the wrist and a presidential pardon.

4

This individual is proof that evil is not something subjective but actual physical matter that has condensed into the likes of him. Like the black goo that made Aku in Samurai Jack.

Leftists in the States, you know he and his administration are going to come for you. There's only one way out here and we all can see this as it's playing out like every other time in history that fascism rose. YOU ALL need to get ahead of these fascists, and there's only one way, too. You will have two choices: be sacrificed to fulfill Trump's dream, or sacrifice yourselves now and go out on your own terms. It's a shit deal, but it's the responsibility of all Americans, regardless of how you voted, to ensure your country isn't run by fascists.

0
lemmy.world

There’s only one way out

That's right, we need to VOTE!

It's the one thing leftists have never tried before. So get out there and HIT THE BALLOT BOX!

You will have two choices

If there's one thing a leftist can always trust, it's someone standing in a position of authority and saying "You're Either With Us, Or You're With The Terrorists!" and then demanding we swear unswerving loyalty on pain of death.

it’s the responsibility of all Americans, regardless of how you voted

Well, you first. Tell us how your plan works out when you get back.

8

I’m genuinely confused by this comment… are you telling me to kill myself?

6
lightnsfwreply
reddthat.com

They're telling you to go get killed being a lone gunman.

2

Not quite that, as lone gunmen usually wind up hindering their cause after the media has its say. But group action, your choice of method, will certainly create a much bigger splash, and others would join in too.

0

No. I'm saying people need to rid America of it's problem. Sadly, this problem has only ever gone away with violence so pick your poison here. Sabotage ICE, hurt finances, and more, or, if you choose (I'm not condoning it), find more extreme measures to fix the problem. The longer Americans take to wake up, the more drastic the violence needed to end the fascism.

1

The only reason I don't go out shooting and hunting is because I'd be alone, I'm not in good enough shape to pull that off. But I've been ready since his first rigged election. For now I'm willing to play along, but as November nears well see how realistic it is that voting will work.

3
lemmy.zip

There are very few leftists in the States.

They're coming after anyone who's in their way and who isn't a fascist.

You will have two choices: be sacrificed to fulfill Trump’s dream, or sacrifice yourselves now and go out on your own terms.

There's a third choice: organize, fight back and win.

3

The vichi DNC dems will do nothing but collaborate. Same as always, and in a pinch they will sell out every progressive they know, same as always. After that the right will come for them too, same as always. We all know exactly how this will play out.

3

That third choice is a sacrifice, tbh. You have to give something up to accomplish that, and you'll be branded a terrorist for using your free speech. So, like I said, two options, as that third one you suggested will be met with force eventually.

not taking a rich, successful bald guy seriously in the 2020s. he was a young man in 2005 with a full head of hair and could have popped a finasteride and gotten a hair transplant to fill in the gaps.

that shows a lack of awareness and intelligence that disqualifies him from judging anyone else ever for his entire life. or it just means he was afraid of side-effects, which leads to other judgements that are no less embarassing--he's a wimp, a loser.

he's a hateful, pathetic piece of shit that's also married to a person of color, which puts it on blast in full HD that he doesn't even possess a shred of integrity.

this guy is another obvious symbol of the decline of america and its culture. now we have to listen to the insane ramblings of the pathetic hanger-on's of the elite.

-3

Being unwilling to risk vascular and hormonal health for basic vanity is not short-sightedness. Your insecurities and weaknesses about the natural progression of life are not everyone else’s problem.

8

could have popped a finasteride and gotten a hair transplant to fill in the gaps

Or he could have cue-balled it but have chosen not to be a fascist. The hairstyle is irrelevant.

A lot of people (including me) choose not to dose ourselves with unnecessary medication or undergo unnecessary surgery in order to satisfy our vanity. If you want to, fine, but don't assume you're brave for not overcoming your body dysmorphia or succumbing to peer pressure.

he’s a hateful, pathetic piece of shit that’s also married to a person of color

No, he's married to Judith Miller, who's Ashkenazi Jewish like he is (and a rabid fascist piece of shit in her own right). So they're either both POCs or neither are. I'll let someone who gives a shit decide how to apply arbitrary racial categories in this case.

5

It's important to point out that he said "Violent Left-wing groups". It's bad enough without embellishing, because they'll just label any resistance as "violence", but let's not embellish the words like Republicans, please. It makes us look no better than those assholes.

-9

From the article:

Miller went even further to say that not only left-wing groups, but also anyone who supports left-wing causes, must be subject to persecution. The issue with U.S. institutions, he said, is that they have grown too “soft” in cracking down on left-wing beliefs.

“Nothing that we do works if the threat of violence and terror goes on unchecked. Our political systems don’t work. Our judicial systems don’t work. Our legal systems don’t work. Our jury trials don’t work,” said Miller. “At the same time, we have to understand there’s a real threat that those who are not themselves terrorists but who support left-wing violence will create the conditions that allow that violence to go on.”

So no. Anyone who supports (what they deem) left-wing causes is targeted.

11
T00l_shedreply

You may not want to accept it, but to them, people who go out and protest peacefully are "the violent left", it was "violent antifa" that attacked the reflecting pool. Any left wingers who so much as says a peep about this fascism is "violent left" to these fascists.

9

Dem presidents too From LBJ to Clinton to Obama to Biden criminalized protests and whistleblowers too. There will be no help from the Dems.

3
lemmy.world

I have no problems accepting it. I literally said they'll just "label any resistance as violence". I just think it's important not to "adjust" words to make what is already insane shit sound more insane. It's already fucking nuts.

1

It's not adjusting though, that's the thing. You're right its already unreal.

1

Bruz western culture is a cancer that raped the human species. One day the strength of the universe in some natural way will manifest the downfall of both right an left.
