Lets just for a moment put the AI portion of this story aside. Let's just look at this as a politician releasing photos, even if forged, of promoting violence against fictional holiday mascots that literally exist for the sole purpose of making kids happy.

That is what he's done here today. Regardless of the AI element, I still find that a weird way to project your insecurities. You have to beat up a fictional character because you're afraid anyone real would come after you.

I'm sure there are bigger losers out there.....but none jump immediately to mind.

It's really weird. The type of thing a 5 year old would think of and find funny. He said he came up with these with his kids, and I could believe that. But why didn't his adult brain think that maybe this is something silly to keep to the family, rather than post online?

Redcaps is a more subtle way to insult MAGAts. They won't know what it means because they don't read books.

And then get mad at the pushback and call everyone: overly sensitive, intolerant, clowns and snowflakes. It's just nothing but ass-faced dipshittery all the way down.

“When you find out the North Pole is trying to bring more bureaucratic overreach & unfunded mandates down the chimney disguised as “Christmas cheer.” Not on my watch,” the Republican posted on his X account Thursday morning.

“We The People run Indiana, not the bureaucrats,” he added. “Take it back to the North Pole big guy.”

[...]

“Lots of intolerance, swearing, and outrage on display over a few AI pics I had a blast designing with my kids,” Garten said. “Some of you clowns are just insufferable. Hopefully your negativity stays in the comments and not directed at your families.”

“Merry Christmas, snowflakes!” he added.

I don't get it, what does Santa have to do with additional Bureaucracy?

You can't even have unpaid immigrants doing manual labour in work camps anymore!

It's Elf and Safety gone mad!

19

I don't get it either. Doesn't Santa work on Christmas Eve? As in evening? As in night time? How is beating him up the next morning helpful at all? Why the holy fuck did this moron not make his stupid fucking pictures set at night?

13

As someone who has to interact with fundies regularly, I can explain. Fundies are opposed to secular ideology, which they associate with liberal bureaucrats. "Unfunded mandates" refers to social programs, something he's opposed to because he feels that the government can't or shouldn't afford them, and which he associates with the spirit of giving that is central to the secularized christmas holiday. Santa is the mascot of that secular version of christmas.

Every accusation a confession LMAO

Imagine him screeching that his children are snowflakes for liking Santa Claus

This guy didn’t have the courage to stand for anything, so he has to make believe he can beat up… Santa.

What a weird loser.

Oh good, he made them with his kids. Sounds like he is turning them in to shit stains too, great.

37

Yeah, but hopefully the teasing they get from the other kids over this convinces them how stupid their dad really is.

Decided to use Santa as a strawman for "beaurocratic overreach and unfunded mandates". What that has to do with Santa, why the hell Santa was the stand-in for his weird violent fantasizing, what exactly is meant to be funny about any of it, and why he decided to post these pictures publicly? Idk. Also, the implication of this is that he is angry to the point of desiring to do violence to beaurocrats, which is to say actual people in government. And he is wondering why people think he is unhinged.

20

Apparently mega-fundies hate Santa because he’s too “secular” and distracts from Jesus. Nothing says “Jesus’ love” like beating someone up.

The was on Xmas is over because Xmas already won. We're in an occupied Xmas state.

  • The radio has been playing Xmas music for 8 weeks straight.
  • You can't walk into a mall, shop, grocery store, it has station without hearing Xmas music. Several channels play 24/7 Xmas movies for most of December.
  • A Christmas Story plays on 48 hour loop in Xmas.
  • Every other house is covered in lights, props, and inflatable decorations
  • Stores start selling Xmas stuff in October.
  • Most everyone making content, from the news to YouTube says Merry Christmas.
  • Spirit now has Christmas stores.
  • There are stores that sell Christmas merch all year long.
  • Xmas specials are everywhere on TV leading up to it.
  • Fox News pushes Xmas propaganda to keep it ascendant and quash decent.

Clearly Christmas has won. the best anyone else can manage is to fight to push it back across the December 1st line, and it's thusfar been a futile effort.

What? Shredded you say? Was that before or after "slammed"? Or maybe "blasted"? Or at least "facing calls"...

What was funny to me is I couldn't even tell this apart from just bad Photoshop, especially the ones that literally just make him look like he's cut out and pasted into an image. Either way it looks fake and dumb, though.

4

Weirdly enough he looks fake and dumb in photographs too.
