Luigi Mangione Content Is a Challenge for Social Media Moderators - B…

It's going to continue to be a problem for moderators, because people genuinely want the death of billionaires and CEOs. Every for-profit platform is going to ban calling for the deaths of CEOs, because the owners of the company don't want that kind of speech around.

This is why decentralized pseudo-platforms like the Fediverse are so important, so people can make their actual thoughts, feelings and desires known, and speak to each other about it. When Luigi capped Thompson, we all got this amazing moment where our pain hurt and rage were validated through knowing we weren't alone in our desire to kill the ruling class. That's genuinely dangerous to people like Thompson.

A global housing crisis is suffocating the middle class

There is no middle class - there is the working class and the exploiter class. People have misidentified a chunk of the relatively better off working class as somehow not part of the working class. Over time the systems of capitalism and the power imbalances at the heart of the non-unionized workplace will eventually reduce better off workers to the lowest common denominator as the exploiter class demands perpetually growing profit that must come at the cost of the working class.

This can't be real can it?

I'm so tired of being the Cassandra of my social life - I call this shit out years ahead of time and nobody believes me or takes my analysis seriously because I said that I'm a communist. Like, holy shit, yes, I am a communist - I want workers to own the entirety of society. That's the exact opposite of these fascist fucks who essentially want bosses, money and corps to control society. I'm a communist because I saw this fascism coming, I recognized the patterns and incentive structures in society, and realized communism is the best way to defeat fascism - we have to decisively win the class war. And this is a war, don't confuse it. Mark my words, now that things have gotten to this point, massive violence is inevitable soon.

Elon Musk recommends that the International Space Station be deorbited ASAP

Now, for legal purposes, let me say I'm not asking for or instructing anyone to do this. But at this point, I think Musk needs a visit from a Luigi-type stochastic terrorist. If one was about to kill oneself, and statistically, there'll be people who read this who are, consider taking out Musk before you go. You'll be a martyr and a celebrated hero across the internet. You'll also be giving a massive gift to humankind.

On a personal level, to anyone reading this: I'm sorry that we're at this spot, it sucks.

*Permanently Deleted*

I'd start testing to see what the restrictions are on the note - for example, could you get Thiel to give all his money away and then end himself? If there aren't many restrictions you could say "Netanyahu, by nuclear weapon, at the Davos summit in 2025" in order to take out a whole bunch of the ruling class at once.

The other thing I'd try is writing "Elon Musk, guillotined by a revolutionary communist government made from the population of the former United States" to see if I could get regime change to happen.

What do you think of environmental protest groups?

Both Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion are great, and protests should be disruptive, otherwise they're just ignored. Maybe they're not doing enough disruption and damage to force governments to listen. Or, maybe someone should go after energy/oil companies directly via sabotage or other means and cause enough economic damage that the cost of polluting and resource extraction becomes too high for them to profit from.

He could be a union supporter though - in my experience of doing labor organizing, the younger folks are usually more pro-union, then there's a dead zone of support from the Boomers, and then the really old folks are much more supportive because they grew up when unions were more of an active force.

If Wallace is down to organize, then I'd pick him and just take the risk that he's got some shitty opinions that I'll have to work through and re-educate him on.

Remember, it's against the TOS to condone violence. So let's all discuss giving billionaires bunnies

I've got a story idea for a cyberpunk dystopia. Imagine a world almost identical to ours. In that world, some inventive person creates a darknet website that allows anonymous donations to put bounties on corporate executives. Now, this site's creator wants to make sure their site isn't misused, so they implement guardrails like "Targets would be required to have over $10M in assets" and "each crypto wallet may contribute a maximum of $5 so it better reflects the will of the people."

Then, the site admin adds betting options like "who reaches a $1M bounty first", over/under odds, betting on which target gets whacked first, etc, in order to draw traffic to the site. Maybe there'd also be a percentage of the bounty that's paid out to organizations working to heal the damage caused by the target, so for example if a fossil-fuel exec gets whacked then that percentage goes to orgs working to stop fossil fuels.

How do you think it'd play out in this story? Would the site properly incentivize people to shoot up boardrooms rather than schools?

What's a good way to get instantly isekaied from your job?

Definitely talking about unions if you're in the US. I single-handedly saved the company I worked for from a $10M+ data breach, got top performance reviews, and then got screamed at by my boss after I sent an article to a coworker about how UPS drivers had gotten massive raises by unionizing. I was fired a month later for "unprofessional conduct" with zero examples given and despite the protests of the rest of the team I worked with.

The state of libertyhub

We really don't need more liberal apologia, IMO LibertyHub was and should be a respite from all that. Can we please not let it be overrun by class collaborationism, revisionism and bourgeoisie pseudo-theory? If our goal is to create a proletariat strong enough to throw off the chains of our oppression and move towards socialism, we need to not platform liberal ideology that reinforces the status quo of capitalism.

Or maybe when you reach $1B we take away all your money, maybe name a park after you, and put a little gold star on your ID and license plate so everyone can know you're on New Game+ and are super good at capitalism. Then they can show everyone how it's done by pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and proving they got rich through hard work and talent rather than luck and exploitation.
