Anon swims

Your metabolic rate can be several times higher in a pool or other body of water than it is on land without any exercise at all. Body heat is lost at a much higher rate when you are submerged in water and your body will burn more fuel to maintain core temperature.

Texans leaving the state as property taxes climb

I am a California native that lived in Metro Austin for three years. The lack of a state tax didn't make up for the ridiculous property taxes at all. The one other huge expense that a lot of transplants don't realize is the water bill. Prices are ridiculous to begin with and on top of the bill many neighborhoods had to pay a fee for the MUD - Metropolitan Utility District - to pay off the bond that was issued to build the local water source.

We should rename Solar to Patriot Power to make it palatable to the right

You assert that "the left loves the massive pollution aspect of it" and expect someone to take you seriously? I hope you are trolling, because this statement isn't very well thought out. My understanding of the majority leftist energy position is that renewables like solar are preferable to burning hydrocarbons because of a lower lifetime environmental footprint. Do you have a different understanding of how leftists think?

I would have directed you towards Voat, but apparently it shutdown. Sort of makes sense. It billed itself as a version of Reddit without censorship at all, and was created in the wake of Reddit banning a lot of communities like fatpeoplehate, jailbait, etc. It took the somewhat predictable course of becoming hate speech and nothing else. If you want a community that allows unfettered free speech, that is the issue you will have to confront. People create content, those with anything worthwhile aren't going to contribute to a forum that mixes their content in with trash.

Bicyclists like myself are just trying to do a thing we like in a world that is mostly designed for people that feel a 5000 pound SUV is a necessity to move a 175 pound person 4 miles to the store. Not sure why you are so mad. Might be a lack of exercise.
