I thought that sort of thing was exclusive to motorcycles, as a sort of a, "What we're doing is inherently more dangerous and requires a different skill set," acknowledgement, but Jeeps are just... Cars.

Do you actually think that they're pretending to be badass? Isn't it more likely that they just thought it looked neat?

For me, most of the time these things come down to, "It's not what I would do in that situation," which is a bit ineffable, so it's easy to be annoyed by something that feels incorrect because I can't really explain why I feel that way.

I think in most cases where this administration seems to have a good idea it's important to remember that it's likely designed to keep them in power.

A national database that the trump admin controls will 100% be exploited for their own gain, just like every other aspect of government is being exploited for their gain now.

specialization is for insects

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Robert A. Heinlein

That's quite the list. I think the conversation is more nuanced, especially since the quote seems so anti-specialization, but in general I think it's correct. Even so, none of these things are really specializations/ exclusive of each other.
