Conservative politicians love to bitch about shit but how do they ever propose to improvr anything?

Reply in thread

nailed it honestly. the “corporations are the only legit authority” thing explains literally every conservative policy position if you squint. laws = annoying suggestion, CEO decision = gospel. and yeah the code word rotation is real, swap in whatever scares the base that week, meaning stays the same: “person who wants public goods to exist.” good breakdown

More Americans report shoplifting as inflation climbs, survey finds

They act like “shoplifting is up” is some mystery of human nature and not literally the free market doing exactly what it’s designed to do. Squeeze wages, jack prices, gut every safety net you can find, then act shocked pikachu face when people start taking matters into their own hands. This ain’t a morality crisis it’s a pricing signal. Crime stats are just capitalism’s blooper reel at this point.

Bullet train dream: Poland building ‘railway of the future’ with 350 km/h supertrains

Man, Poland is out here building 350 km/h rail while we can’t even get Amtrak to show up on time. As an American reading this thread genuinely stings a little. We invented the modern passenger railroad and now we’re over here getting lapped on infrastructure by a country a third our size. Meanwhile my “high speed rail” option is a Greyhound that breaks down outside Sacramento. Cool cool cool, love that for us.

We have information that Moonshot distilled Fable for the development of K3

Kratsios drops an accusation with zero evidence and every outlet runs it as fact. Meanwhile the actual K3 weights aren’t public for another five days, so nobody outside Moonshot can check any of this yet.

Sure, the distillation claim might be real, Moonshot’s had that stink on them since February and a model that literally says “I’m Claude” is a bad look. But notice the “free and fair AI development” line coming from the same government that yanked Fable offline under export controls last month. This was never about fairness. It’s about keeping the compute and IP moat intact for three US companies. “Theft” is just the word capital uses when someone else eats its rent.

Doesn’t make Beijing the good guy either.
