Trump's mug shot

I wholeheartedly disagree that it's a tragic day. The tragedies happened when he committed his crimes and got away with them for years. This is just the beginning of resolution.

Nexus Mods Fine With Bigots Leaving Over Removed Starfield ‘Pronoun’ Mod

what exactly is the left's batshit insanity in this instance? literally that the game lets you pick your pronouns?

did you know that fallout: a post-nuclear role playing game (1997) also allowed you to do this? a few other games that have let you do this are fallout 2 (1998), mass effect (2007), fallout 3 (2008), mass effect 2 (2010), skate 3 (2010), the elder scrolls 5: skyrim (2011 and also every year since), mass effect 3 (2013), fallout 4 (2015), sonic forces (2017), mass effect andromeda (2017), cyberpunk 2077 (2020), trackmania 2020 (2020), and literally every other game ever to feature a character creator. if this is batshit insanity, then i can't wait to find out what you think of unions.

Anti-LGTBQ “Million March For Children” outnumbered by “Billion March For Not Being Bigots”

Well, I'm no medical professional, but medical professionals have been prescribing puberty blockers for other things for decades, and if they were as dangerous as all that, then you'd think the FDA would have banned that by now.

Besides which, access to treatments like those ones are documented to reduce rates of self-harm, including suicide, among kids with gender dysphoria. And if your metric is the body turning out like it would have without these treatments, well, I hope I don't need to fill in the blank for you.

City roads should be ‘ripped out completely’ to fight pollution, says government adviser

Who besides rich boys can afford to ride their bikes to work?

i bike to work in no small part because i can't afford to drive there

Single mothers getting their kids to elementary and middle schools?

in civilized countries, they can use a cargo bike (what the dutch call a bakfiets) to carry the kids. or the kids can ride their own bikes.

The elderly going to their doctors appointments?

many elderly people can still cycle. you may even see electric assist tricycles on the bike path in civilized countries. and of course elderly people also benefit from accessible and convenient public transit.

Working stiffs who can’t afford to live in downtown?

this is a real concern and i absolutely share your desire to build large-scale dense public housing developments in downtown around transit stations, as well as doing the same around more outlying transit stations such that taking public transit also becomes a viable option.

What do you think will happen to rents when is forced to get an apartment in one of the existing blocks?

wait, i thought you wanted to build public housing to address housing affordability? was that just me offering a solution, and not you? that's weird

And Quartz, of course

Best way to cure yourself of this is to become a teacher in your field, especially if you do any teaching of anybody who isn't already specializing in it (K-12 or for-non-majors college classes). I'm a music teacher and yesterday I had a kid struggle for a full half hour to play a kick drum on a consistent quarter beat. Literally all you have to do is lift your foot up and put it back down again, but at one point he actually asked me "when I pick my foot up, it keeps hitting the bit of the kick pedal above it and that's throwing me off" and I had to explain to him that he could move his foot half an inch backward and that would stop happening, because apparently he was unable to intuit that. Didn't seem to help him all that much, though.

He was also wearing running shoes with the laces taken out, which leads me to believe that this is not the only basic thing this ten-year-old child struggles with.

Sorry, I know this isn't geology related, but I needed to rant about it.
