Lemmy users having a bit of fun dancing!

Reply in thread

I've been places where white=trad and red could be sharps or redskins.

This shit is so inconsistent you can never assume. I moved across the country once and after going to a few bars/cafes I thought I found my people, oh boy was I wrong.

You need to look at tattoos, shirts, or overt music to make a judgement on first impression.

I would think at a nazi skin party at least some people would be wearing their favorite wp T-shirts, the lack of this or any visible sus tats would suggest these are probably cool people. But if you stumbled upon it, and you didn't know the local customs, you couldn't be sure until you heard a bit of conversation.

Pronouns

Ask them how big God's dick is. Tell them you're serious. Make then explain how that's a ridiculous question. Then ask them: if God's gender identity isn't tied to genitals, why do they insist on doing it?

Germany Tightens Sick Leave Rules: Medical Doctor Note Required From Day One, Telephone Sick Leave Ended

This will backfire.

Before I retired, I got put on what my employer called a "sick leave letter" which means they thought I was abusing sick leave. Which was ridiculous, I had used only about 20% of the sick leave I had earned during my career and had a huge bank of time, but they said they thought there was "a pattern" because it was often in conjunction with my weekend. This sick leave letter required a doctor's note every time, instead of only for prolonged absences.

You know what doctors don't tell you? They don't tell you to "suck it up and get back to work as soon as you can drag yourself in", which was my M.O.. You know what they do tell you? They do tell you to take at least a week off, two if you can.

As I said, I had a huge bank of time. After two times where 1-2 days became two weeks, which I gladly took and turned into vacations, I started asking if they really wanted me to go to a doctor (which involved me spending about an hour going down the road to urgent care and spending a $20 copay to get a note for two weeks) or if I could just take a day or two. They, smartly, told me not to bother, which I required in writing. The sick leave letter expired eventually and I never heard any bullshit again.

TL;DR: Doctors tell you to take more time off than most people take on their own.

‘Heartbreaking’: 2-year-old girl dies after being hit by car on beach

Reply in thread

Daytona has a long racing history that goes back to before the speedway was there. Back then they used to race on the beach because it's long, straight, and flat. That's where the tradition of driving on the beach comes from and it's considered part of the local culture and a defining aspect of that part of Florida. That's why there is so much resistance to getting rid of it.

Feddit.org pushes FALSIFIED screenshot portraying dbzer0 as Nazis, bans users for questioning it. The truth is revealed.

Reply in thread

The site appears to indicate edits. The first post shows edited a week ago.

I don't know how hard it would be to manipulate that at the admin level, if it's even possible, or if any of the users in the screenshot are admins. Maybe someone that knows more about whatever platform they're using can help.

Edit: You can go to nicecrew.digital, where a couple of the posters are from and without signing in, hit explore, search posts for the exact wording for Classic Tyler's first post (I'm sending Johnny an invoice), and you'll get this thread.

You only get the nicecrew replies, the rest won't load, maybe because poa.st, where the OP is from, seems fucked up right now, maybe due to all the traffic caused by this investigation, lol.

Nicecrew.digital indicates edits with an icon. None of these posts have the icon.

Unless this is a coordinated cover-up by admins of multiple instances removing indications of editing (and I don't even know if that's possible) what you can see right now on wayback, annihilation.social, and nicecrew.digital is legit. The feddit screenshot is a fabrication.

Edit#2: You can also go to detroitriotcity.com, search for alexmussolini88's (jfc, these people) post, and get the whole thing. Again, with no indication of edits outside of the OP.

Why in America is .08 the legal limit for drunk driving? How come it's not an even 0.10? Who decided at what level being drunk starts? Then 4 beers of 12oz's is 0.08 why is it that small?

It was .10 pretty much everywhere when I was a kid, .08 became a thing little by little during the 90s, I think. MADD, mothers against drunk driving, is the reason behind this and many of the things surrounding drunk driving some find too restrictive or punitive. They were a very effective lobbying group.

US will issue commemorative passports with Trump’s picture for America's 250th birthday

When I've traveled internationally, both during his first presidency and recently, people would occasionally ask me what I thought about him. I would tell them and they would often say something like "that's what everyone I've talked to seems to think," in a somewhat accusatory way (or maybe my embarrassment makes me a little paranoid,) like we are not being honest.

And I basically say what you just said. Sure, there are probably a few trump supporting liars among those you've spoken to, but for the most part, trump supporters are incurious people, scared of everything, and not interested in experiencing new things and places.

A trump supporter (he would just say Republican, but there is no difference imo) I work with just took his family on an international vacation for the first time about a month ago. He went to Costa Rica and stayed in a resort. When he got back and people asked him about it he would say "it's great, the resort had everything you need, there were lots of English TV stations with American programming, tons of 'normal' food, and everybody in stores spoke English" (in the little strip of stores right outside the resort designed to give just the right amount of 'local flavor' without being scary). That's about as adventurous as I imagine the average magat to be.

Shapeshifting

I'd want the powers of the Jessica Jones villain played by David Tennant where you can make anyone do anything. But instead of using it to rape and shit I'd make rich people turn their homes into homeless shelters and give their wealth away and I could just walk out of any bank or store with whatever I wanted.
