Useless censorship has become a shibboleth for social media brain rot. People do it to mark themselves as current on social media trends. That's all it is. There's no evidence that it has anything to do with content strikes.

The ones forced into it, I pity. In my area, it's fairly common to see a women (and girls) out in the park in full religious garb, while their husband is in sweatpants and flip-flops. It definitely makes me angry. I honestly don't think anyone chooses to dress like this unless they are forced to by a man.

How LoRa (ExpressLRS) Drone Receivers Work

Reply in thread

There is a preamble, which is a known sequence. The receiver uses the preamble to find the timing and frequency offset for the transmitter. In most LoRA-like systems, the modulation parameters are manually configured at runtime, though there is no reason why dynamic payload params cannot be specified in a header. That's just a bunch of additional complexity these systems try to avoid most of the time.

Why do these anecdotes always sound like a person giving up and allowing themselves to be assimilated by brain slugs?

The problem becomes that unless they actually have legit peppers or hot sauce, just throwing in more thai chilis and cayenne has a diminishing return. I can eat thai chilis and habaneros raw without much problem. Ironically, being a dedicated spice lover means it all comes back full circle once you accept that even proper "Indian spicy" or "thai spicy" just isn't going to be shit unless they have some exotic ingredients in the back.

The last thing which made me properly tap out was chicken wings coated in 1-2M scoville sauce (basically reapers, vinegar and salt). At a hot wing contest. And now I've been through three of those bottles since then so it really feels like there are no more mountains to climb, outside of these dumb events where they are basically tossing wings in bear spray at this point.

Philips shouldn't exist anymore. Torx plus is the champ

Reply in thread

Torx often ends up being the worst of both worlds imo. It grabs too hard and you can easily overdrive it and strip the hole in some material. And you can also still easily strip the head if you don't get the bit seated all the way. I think the Robertson combo head is the best all around, since you have a Robertson bit for high torque applications and a Phillips bit for low torque and slightly off axis work. And then the "ecx" bit for "I'm going to friction weld this terminal screw shut" applications.
