As someone who uses arch, its just stability. Arch is great for a hobby, if you want to do work, use fedora. Its so much simpler. That being said, I love arch because of the tinkering, and that lack of tinkering is why I switched off fedora.

GOP warns AI companies that data centers are politically radioactive
Reply in thread
I was at someone's house, I forget whom, but I saw an ad their that was a complete PR campaign for data centers in Texas. I was in Michigan. The ad was spewing blatantly false info abt data centers like "Um, actually data centers help Texas grow stronger communities." People should know that the PR campaign has been ongoing for a while now.

I would unironically watch that. It would need some energy from Inglorious Basterds though.

What is the best vps provider for privacy and price to performance?

No, virtual private server, I am looking for a provider that respects privacy and is decently cheap.

Can't find a single distro that proudly advertises "NO AI"
Reply in thread
If you want no AI integration, I would reccomend debian or arch. Mainly because you can choose exactly what packages are installed and they have a large community.

EU plans to fine Google high triple-digit million euro sum
Reply in thread
yeah, its a shit ton of money, but google is worth fucking 4.62 trillion fucking dollars. Lets the eu fines them the highest. 1b$. A shit ton of money. That is 0.021 of their total value. 0.021%. Are you fucking kidding me. Comperatively to their worth, its pennies. The equivalent for fining an average american worker, making the average wage, which is around 65,000$ lets say would be $13.65. In 2025 alone, google MADE 400 fucking billion. Its a fucking small amount. Stop spreading propaganda about these big companies.
Edit: sorry bad calcs, 1 billion is 0.00021 of 4.62 trillion. The equivilant for 65000, as someone helpfully pointed out below is 13.65
Edit 2: Alphabet is buying a fucking chipotle bowls worth of money.
