I was rather excited when I heard about the reboots. And for the most part, I did enjoy the different takes on things. But I couldn't stand how small they made the galaxy. Few hours to get to Vulcan, a transwarp system that sent a man to Klingon space in a matter of days. No scale at all. But it took me years to watch the third one, and didn't like it at all.

I had a friend who tried the same thing, bars and such. He didn't try anybody in his friend group and he was more ir less isolated at work, so there was no real pool of people to look into. I suggested getting a cheap seat at the ballpark and he balked saying he didn't like sports. I told him even if he walked the concourse, there were still folks he could interact with. He ended up finding some girl who was an actual prostitute and got him hooked on drugs.

I struggle with suicidal ideation problems. They have been so severe in the past that I almost went through it. While not all suicidal scenes trigger me, there are a few. And I have found that having the warnings help me from shutting off the TV and running off in a crying fit. I know it's coming and can prepare myself. And knowing that the hotline is there has been one of the most comforting things I know of. I may have never called, but it's there for when I can't deal on my own. So yes, the warnings make a positive difference for me.

I agree with the other comments, go out on the date. Dad says your complaining that you can't find a girl to go out with, why are you worried that he's found someone? Afraid they are some horrid person with a crappy personality and a face like a bowl of Spaghetti? Imagine how she is feeling. Now you have something to talk about.

I used to joke with my niece that my programming job was just me staring at screens and meetings all day. She didn't believe me until she got to shadow me one day and got super bored.

I have read many comments here about how horrible it is that the rich get everything and we need to make the opportunities equal for everyone, I think they are missing the point of the comic. At the end, Richard's view has been filtered through the things he was given as something that happens to everyone. Nobody told him that he was given privileges that Paula doesn't have access to. To him, everybody has access.

My wife's cousin runs the office for a podiatrist and has to deal with insurance companies. When I told her about the shooting, she just flippantly responded that it was probably someone denied coverage and it was bound to happen.

As a cis male, I wish other cis folk would realize that my nail polish and the fact that I like shows that would normally be geared towards women doesn't mean I am secretly trans, or closeted gay man.

The more a building is useful, the more the surrounding area is worth. If nobody is at the office, no one will rent the store fronts in the building. No renters, lower real estate price.

I used to work in a very large mortgage company in their website. The amount of tracking they do, the amount of information they have, just for mortgages, is astounding and frightening. We knew almost every detail about someone before they committed to a mortgage.

I forsee a Trademark problem that many didn't expect, and Disney trying to defend their copyright by saying that they used the same version in a Mickey Mouse cartoon in 2023.

As a guy, best I can say is educate him on what women go through. Make sure he knew what is going on, so he doesn't look like an idiot with a woman. And so he isn't like me and learn about how periods actually work when he's almost thirty because he doesn't get a joke in a movie.

What he needs to learn at this age isn't what he will do through, school will do that for him. He needs to know what others will go through. Religious thinking kept most of female anatomy out of the public schools I went to.

My question is what defines pornography? Will museums have to cloak statues of naked people? Remove a renaissance era painting because of boobs? How about a movie that has tasteful nudity? Or just ads for Victoria Secret?
