The media is spending more effort trying to find where Trump's mystery meat is coming from than they spent trying to figure out if Mitch McConnell is still alive, or not.

Russia’s Starlink Rival “Rassvet” Is Falling—One Satellite Gone, Two More May Be Next
I remember when I saw news like this and proudly thought, "Maybe US spies messed up their tech, or the Russian techs self-sabotaged out of solidarity with the USA and Freedom"
Not anymore 😥

No. If you make and distribute security-related software, you should consider the safety of your user.
Your threat model absolutely should include this exact scenario. And you should know enough to understand and implement principles like plausible deniability and repudiation.

Point is that when graphene gets the distress code, it makes it really clear that it's wiping the phone.
That's the Stupid Part

What's the most silly, petty, funny virus you've created?
Not me. I was the (new inexperienced) PHB.
We had brought on a crazy-expensive, crazy-smart, workaholic but somewhat sophomoric contractor named Bruce.
He was not shy about stupid requirements ("Make it look like it's doing something while it works? Okay, I'll have it print dots. Fuck-all to do with how many records it's actually updated, but sure, it can print dots that you can waste time staring at."). He was not shy about contract requirements ("Fucking Cleveland? Then I want more hourly and a fucking Jacuzzi")
One fine day my manager had had enough of his sarcasm and backtalk and just fired him in the middle of a handover meeting. No warning to me. Whole project got slapped.
Bruce had approximately 20 minutes to gather his shit and leave the building.
About an hour after he did, every screen in the building was replaced with an image from Calvin & Hobbes -- of Hobbes being tossed out of the front door. Management threw a hissy, myself & 2 other technical managers were pressed into emergency security service to hunt down whatever nefarious thing the Bruce Worm was doing.
Turned out to be nothing -- just replaced the screen backgrounds, one time, that's it. They decided not to press charges.
If you're out there, Bruce, you're still a legend to me man.

If he hadn’t used duress and had just refused, he’d have been fine. Graphene is secure
Graphene devs fucked over this guy. They should apologize
When Graphene is serious, the duress passcode will QUIETLY wipe your phone and leave it looking normal, preferably with normal-looking innocuous photos, media, etc.
This is what happens when devs aren't really thinking about the real world use case.

Time really does fly, so what 'I feel old' moment have you come to realize based on how long it's been?
I finally really realized both that I am old and that I am mortal after both my parents died.
Got something you want to do? Get cracking.
