It's always funny when I hear this, currently teaching ELA in Florida of all places. So, we all heard of the cuts to education, stop teaching certain bits of history (please fill me in on the correct term, I currently remember trump or Desantis' buzzwords about not teaching slaves being enslaved and them being "indentured" and "learning valuable skills!" the cunt.)

Anyway, our current section for this lesson plan is on Harriet Tubman, underground railroad, teaching the kids how to get characterization from the text and follow context clues, stuff like that. John Brown is mentioned, and in my counties' plans is a side lesson on John Brown, what he did, which works better for me since I should be teaching history regardless. I'm telling these kids all about him, what he believes in, and how raiding that armory is what caused the federal government to come crashing down on him, all the crazy radical badass things this man did.

Now, as I'm teaching these things, in the back of my head I'm thinking "This is surprising.... Isn't this supposed to be forbidden knowledge right know? What got cut?" Anyway, sorry for the walk of text. Slightly drunk, figured it fit here.

We had a burrito place open up nearby that does "Colorado style" smothered burritos. They suck, and people left reviews about how he is fucking up the historic district of our town with his overkill flags and his really shitty food. He didn't like that, and is actively harassing people who leave bad comments on his business. Terribly. I was laid off last year on Halloween, and I've been trying everything I can to get a job, everything my family and friends can think of. Fuck any sort of standards or pride or anything I may have had previously, I can't even get hired to work the deli counter at Walmart, even they are denying me for minimum wage! I've got a degree, no criminal record, I've got previous professional work experience, I'm dropping over a dozen applications a day both online and in person and nothing is working.

I've got a about a month left of savings. When it's out... I guess I just blow my own brains out. My country has made it clear it doesn't want me, it doesn't need me, it would rather I perish. I'll yield, I'm so tired of fighting and scrounging for the right to live and being told I'm not good enough and not worth anything.

I'll just take their word for it.

I wonder, is there any vehicle rating service that goes off of privacy and security? Some source that tells us what cars have what data collection, and possibly how to turn it off?

My car is dying soon, and I could use a replacement. It would be nice to have that information on hand when shopping.
