She’s going to regret turning down that six-month payout lol

When I was a kid, an anchor on a major network news program called mosquitos “flying hypodermic needles”. This was at the height of the AIDS epidemic. It absolutely terrified me.

I was just old enough to understand what the anchor was talking about, but too young to know that the TV news was often exaggerated and should be treated with skepticism. I’m still kinda bitter about that. Scaring the fuck out of a kid is NOT okay.

It would be terrible if someone abused this lack of moderation to fill grockipedia with accurate information

When someone asks me for project advice, it’s usually someone SO woefully ignorant that I think it’s irresponsible to sell them tools. The other 1% of the time, it’s someone very experienced asking me an incredibly detailed question that I couldn’t possibly answer.

Yeah. There’s a big difference between

and “it’s my strong recommendation that…” People are alarmingly bad at reading.

So when it screws up and gives people $10 plane tickets, they’ll definitely honor them, right?

Imagine you’re making a decision about a sports writer. Imagine you’re even willing to overlook his hostility towards trans athletes. Are you willing to saddle your sports editor with someone who’s defiantly proud of his decade of assholery, and possibly risk a future lawsuit, or will you just move along to the next resume on the pile?

This guy has done every potential employer a major service.

Okay. Tolerating these people was an ethical struggle for me. Now I can just respect them as much as they respect trans people.

This is one of those situations where I kinda want context, but don’t want it if context will ruin the humor.

Call me when they’re being investigated by someone with the authority, independence, will, and backbone to act on what they find. Until then, you’re only setting me up for disappointment.

I’m concerned that children may have been exposed to Christian “metal”. That is a traumatic experience that can ruin your enjoyment of metal, rock, and live concerts in general.

Machines are not like stocks. You can’t just short them and expect to “profit” somehow.

What’s “dismissive” is the way you have been talking about a nineteen year old adult. Young, yes, but still an adult.

Kiedis is a scumbag and criminal. No argument there. However, you can make that point without treating Vestergaard as some naive, doe-eyed innocent who’s incapable of making her own decisions. You may not think so, but under the guise of concern, you’ve been insulting and belittling her constantly. That lack of respect bothers me much more than her relationship history.

Yeah, you’re probably right. One of the things I hate most is hypocrisy. Sometimes I forget how easy it is to fall into that trap myself.
