Why aren't more people creating new operating systems, considering that macOS, Windows, and Linux were developed by individuals with computer science and programming skills?
Here you go, have fun...

Assassin's Creed Shadows Will Feature Denuvo & Account Linking + EULA also requires you to allow Ubisoft to "monitor" your RAM
I love them paying for a denuvo license on a game no one even cares enough about to pirate anyway.
Ubisoft may have given up making entertaining games a long time ago but they still provide me with entertainment.

Chinese numbers
I would have interpreted that as 'prolapse'
Good thing no one is expecting me to provide translations

Youtube has started to artificially slow down video load times if you use Firefox. Spoofing Chrome magically makes this problem go away.

I was wondering how badly out of context the above quote must be considering the UA isn't checked in the function. Above poster is trying to construe it as a pure and simple permanent delay for Firefox.
That being said, the solution is still bullshit.

Epic win: Jury decides Google has illegal monopoly in app store fight
I run e/OS, I don't have google app store or any of the related service software installed. Yet I am able to use a cleaned up version of android and still have access to the google app store through an anonymous account using the in built app.
Epic won this case against google...
Epic lost the same case against apple, with which none of the above would be possible.
I'm not advocating for google, obviously I avoid them. But that's BS, I hope this is used as precedent to bring a new case against apple.

I still don't get this level of rage. I just have a USB C adapter on the end of my ear buds, problem solved, one less physical port to have to replace as I keep my phones until they're dead dead.
I guess you could argue you need an extra cable on you to plug direct into a HiFi system, but I cant even remember the last time that was something I'd want to do.
Aldo in the case of a repairable phone and having replaced the USB on this fp4, I struggle to see where they would have fit an extra daughterboard for a 3.5mm jack to make it repairable

In the UK they defunded youth centres. Whatever shady shit we used to get up to at those, it was in a safe-ish place which at least one responsible person not far away in the worst case. Our behaviour/activities outside of those places once they were gone, as bored youths in a town of middle age to old people, was much worse.

Nuclear is green though, so France is a good place to be importing from. It also has the lowest mortality rate per kWh of all power sources, Chernobyl included.

Busy (rule)
This is an instant addition to the weird garden maze thing I've been planning to build for my kid once they're past the crawling phase.
Any further obstacle suggestions that could be incorporated into a tunnel are gratefully welcome. I'm still trying to work out if a ball pit in a box is even a safe idea...

That was great, the first comparison that came to mind after reading it was they are both a game of russian roulette...
Waymo - you get one chamber loaded with a blank, might kill you if you get it.
Tesla - you get one empty chamber... And the gun is loaded by your worst enemy

'Embarrassing for Putin': Russian territory is under occupation for the first time since WWII
Reply in thread
My preferred fictional outcome is Putin orders a full launch, but almost all the missiles just do a small fart in their tubes as no maintenance was done, and the ones that launch end up reaching escape velocity and disappearing because the people in charge of the silos had long since sold the payloads for yacht money...

FTC can’t afford to fight Amazon’s allegedly deceptive sign-ups after DOGE cuts
I barely use Amazon, it's just 90% AliExpress stock at huge markup anyway, plus more importantly they're evil. I do seem to have prime though, which I use to order something maybe every other month when it's urgent for work. Thing is I'm not signed up for prime, it just activated when I linked an audible account to my business account years ago. I do use audible, to the limit of the credits anyway. So I've been kinda torn for ages and can't bring myself to cancel as my old audible subscription seems to be giving me prime somehow for much less than prime is to sign up.
I just convince myself I'm playing the system...

Do gamers actually like the look of gaming computers and accessories?
I would like it if it was subtle, maybe a few thin rgb lines around the main board like traces, and something similar on other components.
I hate the everything blaring random lights look, its like a kids attempt to draw attention, it works but when you look you wish you hadn't.
