Often conflated but Marx and Engels themselves draw a distinction between socialism and communism. They consider socialism a stepping stone to communism.

Socialist ideas predate Marx. Look up Robert Owen for example. Engels talks about earlier socialist philosophies in "Socialism: Utopian and Scientific". It's not a very long book and it's an interesting read. I think it's an extract from a longer work.

There may be a gap here in the definition of "liberal". Liberalism is a political philosophy that also encompasses most traditional conservatives. It is different from the colloquial usage. It's loosely defined as the belief in individual freedoms, including the right to private property. It is inherently capitalist and therefore socialists, communists and anarchists generally do not consider them to be of the left.

Thanks for the source although I think that's quite specific. It seems mostly about her being ignorant and doubling down on her war against trans people rather than a blanket denial of the holocaust which the term "holocaust denier" conjures

I don't see anything about holocaust denial in your link. There's a 2018 article discussing parallels between her work and the real holocaust but it doesn't claim she's a denier. I don't really care for Rowling but I also don't like misinformation. If there is some evidence can you please share it?

I think you're jumping the gun a bit. They're just saying that requiring a phone number added a barrier against spammers and they want to be sure this change doesn't open the flood gates.

Low quality article from The Guardian. Pretty much entirely composed of quotes from the family with no independent corroboration. According to The Canary (so take it with a pinch of salt) a former Guardian journalist recently admitted to publishing a wholly false anti-Iran story back in 2010 so I'm a bit more skeptical than usual.

I tried finding more detail and it was mostly trash sites republishing the same content but I did find this article from an Iranian human rights group based in the US (again, pinch of salt) that has some more detail. According to them these twins are part of the "Isfahan Shohada Square case".

It's a bit murky. I don't really know what to make of it. Are these inflated charges against legitimate protesters or is there more to it?

I think one option is to seize on a galvanizing moment like a round of redundancies, contract change or merger and use this to get people in to a private group where they can express their opinions with less fear of reprisals.

Of course you would still have to initially communicate via some company owned channel. For this I've found people are more willing to talk one on one via voice/webcam than text. Make sure any transcription feature is disabled.

Obviously a big problem here is that you are already on the backfoot since you are relying on the the company's actions to create the right conditions. You can try instead be proactive with these chats but the momentum is much weaker.
