You did what now?

God that thing looks like it could be found in one of those toy sets you only ever see at the zoo. I love it!

I also really hope that joke isn't too niche...

But God damn you know some engineer was proud of that anti leak at attitudes feature. You know some guy with a slide role figured that crap out with pencil and paper over the course of days. Absolutely love it

The first one you posted is definitely peak action sci-fi. It's movie would star Arnold or someone similar. The second is some Last Starfighter, post Star Trek, pre Star Wars cheese flick

It's required, but ask any servers you know how often that actually happens. Last restaurant my friend worked at would carry over tips from previous days in their books so it'd look like they made exactly 7.25 an hour every time. Only reason they got caught is because they always made it exactly 7.25 an hour on those days.

They got a meager fine and were told to pay the money back. They filled for bankruptcy rather than pay out like $4000 in back pay. If you or I had stolen $4000, we'd be in prison. A business does it and it's a slap on the wrist and a quick bankruptcy and reopening under a new name

What the Linux desktop really needs to challenge Windows

I do a lot of work setting up computers and laptops for people, mostly getting software they need installed and setting up ad blocking so I don't need to come back later on and clean up a million viruses.

Lately, I've been offering a discount to people that allow me to get rid of windows entirely and install Linux, with the option to reinstall Windows for free later. I've had several people take me up on the offer, especially once I explain what Recall is to them. Only 1 has had me switch it back, and they needed to use some super niche piece of software that I just absolutely could not get running with wine no matter what I installed, and I suspect that it has something built in to make it not run on non-windows systems.

Basically, just explaining Microsoft's security nightmare in a way that your average person can understand (and I mean a real average person, not the average person as people on Linux forums see them) has gotten over 2 dozen clients to switch over to Linux with minimal issues.

Also windows borking like 5 peoples SSDs certainly helped!

Let's put her on saline & discharge right away

Happens to men too unfortunately.

Went into the hospital last year in extreme pain between my chest and abdomen. This is the exact pain both my mother and father felt before their gallbladders had to be rapidly extracted.

Now, when I say pain, I fucking mean pain. They were giving me crazy amounts of high strength pain killers and they were lasting for more minutes. Then they prescribed me something and discharged me. Next day I'm back and worse than ever, so they finally admit me and assign me to the surgeon.

Man comes in immediately acting like I'm just here seeking drugs. I'm reeling in pain and we're all explaining what's happening. Dick head refused to do any tests, he just wanted to wait me out, so the bastard puts me on a no food, no liquids diet, so now I get to sit there and suffer in pain while also being incredibly thirsty and hungry.

Next day's Saturday. I'm still in pain and I've heard nothing from the surgeon. I'm doing everything short of getting on my knees and begging for water. Still no tests. Still won't take me off the diet.

Next, we threaten to leave and seek care elsewhere. The patient advocate comes in and we explain what's been happening. They're clearly shocked by his behavior, but can't say much. So, without warning, she calls the surgeons personal number and puts him on speaker. We can all hear him out on a boat doing God knows what instead of testing me. So I go nuclear and loudly proclaim that he had better get his ass off that boat or the next phone call will be from my lawyer.

Within the hour I'm finally getting my blood drawn and tested.

The next morning, I still haven't seen the surgeon. I'm woken up at 6am by a nurse telling me I have surgery in an hour. Turns out some levels were so high that they had to call in an emergency surgery team to do exactly what I had told this Dr. Cox wannabe dick head two days earlier.

Basically, the surgeon was content to let me lay there and die to prove I was drug seeking.

I honestly should've looked into malpractice suits, cause I'm still experiencing tons of issues a year later

I pretty much stopped watching after Emily stopped being on camera and unsubbed entirely after the harassment and overworking allegations came out.

And I'm not even a Linux person 99% of the time! I do run a home server, but my daily driver is windows. Emily was just one of the only people on the channel that not only seemed to know exactly what she was talking about, but also didn't behave like a total tech dude bro the entire time

How about no?

There's likely zero bugs, but Firefox has more ways to block ads and trackers from affecting you, which is likely to real reason they don't want it being used.
