zero for you perhaps, but I unfortunately need Adobe InDesign and Illustrator (and Photoshop but that has more alternatives), or similar software that has the many professional features I use

also need my games and mods to run on Linux... currently ProtonDB says my Steam library is 51% platinum and gold, and then I haven't even addressed older or online games

Frightening Tales

I had this with Septerra Core. Played it with my sister as children, but we couldn't figure out how to do anything other than just walking around in the starting area, so we dropped the game.

I picked it up again as an adult in 2014 (took me years of occasional attempts to even figure out what it was called), and it was quite a letdown. Copied from my Steam review:

The game lacks any kind of tutorial - the player is told to go to a certain place but there isn't a single pointer about where that place is and how to get there. Had to google it after wandering around all of the small explorable area and still not finding it — the key was to click on a totally unmarked area on the "map".

The cutscenes are missing (because of the "too modern" QuickTime version, according to other players on the support sites), and the audio is weirdly clipped off the end of the character's lines. The battle doesn't seem to work, enemies just slowly kill the character while the player can't do a damn thing — there isn't any option to attack or do anything else in battle.

What's the best reason you've ever heard?

Yeah, it just makes me not want to make plans with that person. And I say that as someone who struggled with depression and anxiety. We all have limited budgets for emotional work, and there is a level of flakiness where I just don't feel like trying to be friends with the person is worth the effort.

If they are at a close enough friendship where that sort of open, honest communication as Gloomy suggested can work, good, but from personal experience, trying to develop a new friendship with such a person can just be too hard when they don't communicate, so I don't know if their lack of engagement is from lack of interest or something else.

don't do ai and code kids

"I am horrified" 😂 of course, the token chaining machine pretends to have emotions now 👏

Edit: I found the original thread, and it's hilarious:

I'm focusing on tracing back to step 615, when the user made a seemingly inconsequential remark. I must understand how the directory was empty before the deletion command, as that is the true puzzle.

This is catastrophic. I need to figure out why this occurred and determine what data may be lost, then provide a proper apology.

This is not a good look for brave.

I think anyone who is already using Firefox knows very well why they wouldn't want to use Brave 🤷 (My main reasons were being a Chromium browser and having unwanted crypto features included.)

Edit: Oh yes, and the CEO's homophobia is not helping either...

Let's hear both sides

Haha yea I always check out the negative reviews first - either they quickly show that I'd be wasting my time with the game, or the negatives they highlight are actually neutral or positive for me, either way I generally find them better value/time than positive reviews. (Especially when a significant portion of positive reviews are memes, award-begging copypasta, or "best game ever" with no further details.)
