LJ is considering a sub for premium features of Sync for Lemmy (which I'm against, would much rather just buy the app outright). With that in mind, I can see him open sourcing this application.

Nor should he. FOSS is great, but not all apps need to be FOSS, and not all developers can afford to work for free / donations.

This community is still tiny compared to r/formula1, but it's growing at a good pace. We're getting lots of posts here.

Can somebody ELI5 this to a normal tech person who is aware of the RISC5, but has no idea why everyone is so excited about this?

• Will emulation or translation layers allow x86 applications to run on RISC CPUs?

Self hosting is much closer to gaming on Linux than Windows imo, but it's a great analogy nevertheless.

Who knows about next year. Could imagine Perez going if his results in qualifying don't improve. His season would be utterly dreadful if he was in any car but the Red Bull.

I have all sorts of weird troubles with IPv6 at home. Facebook won't load some content, Netflix will frequently buffer and fail to load, Steam will almost never download things quickly.

Turn off IPv6 on my router, all my troubles go away.
