AI CEOs say they need to slow the pace of development. But will they?
Text book the answer to a headline in the form of a question is always 'no'.

I don't see the internet necessarily as one of the best places. It's like an adult bar with lots of different people and lots of dangerous people and you should be mature to navigate.
Sane parents don't take their kids to the bar. And sane parents and schools implement network controls to prevent access to non didactic content. They can still chat and share memes, but without a schedule or supervision, it's simply ludicrous to me.

We still have to pump gas to go to work. It only eats more and more of the income on one end, and makes everything else more expensive which eats from the other end. When, if ever, will you be able to buy an electric? Just to marginally relieve one end. Total disaster, predictably.

On the topic of AI
Men Homunculi in power adore immigrants. They created desperate people in poor countries. These people will want to come to expensive countries and accept any terms the men homunculi in power can get away with, to increase their margins by lowering wages and worker rights.

is smart launcher 6 privacy friendly?
The company collects and processes fingerprintable information, including IP address, for "legitimate interests", whatever those are at any point in time.
This Application may track Users by storing a unique identifier of their device, for analytics purposes or for storing Users’ preferences.
'Privacy' is not even mentioned anywhere in the website, not as a feature, not as a consideration or demonstrating awareness.
Except for GDPR this or that. Who cares, just don't collect data...
No github page, can't even take a peek at the development.
I'd say not privacy friendly. Would not install. Because while they don't seem like a data mining operation, they're still collecting something and there's risk of database leaks, and privacy is clearly not a focus.

Custom Roms are not the solution!
Custom roms can be just like distros. The problem is non unlockable bootloaders and device attestation and that's only getting worse with the help of the govs. If we wanna try something, it would be directed here. But they're really convinced only big corps can do it.
Anything else installed on a device, including GrapheneOS, will render it a dumb device. People don't want that, they don't even want freedom actually. They don't want linux, never picked it up for decades. It'll even get banned.
