Sadly the right is on the rise everywhere and not solely due to twitter, they just give it a more visible voice

expect a return on their investment and they have the right to pressure spez to seek aggressive monetization of the platform.

Whilst I agree that investors have everybright to expect a return on investment I think this could have been resolved and a number of ways which didn't include alienating a large proportion of the user base.

UK Play store keeping it real :-)

Private healthcare has got this covered

If they wanted an echo chamber they would have defederated from all other instances.

I'm sure they have a reason, whether it's the correct decision is another matter.

The price the UK will have to pay. What can I say, play stupid games win stupid prizes.

But even that price would be more beneficial than the present state of affairs.

AntennaPod for Android available through FDroid is pretty good if you're after Foss.

Personall, for me the best podcast app os Pocket cast, multi-platform and web browser option.

And this is why I wish instance user blocking was an option rather than just the nuclear option of defederating.

Not having a quick step to go to your subscribed magazines.

I know you can via settings but honestly on a mobile it's a mission.

No apps yet support kbin, no way to change post layouts.

All of that said, what works for you works and the beauty of the fediverse is the choice to be able to choose the source and still see everything.

Pixel 7

Great value for money, excellent camera, no bloatware and great battery life for my use case.

Best Android phone I've owned to date.

Out of curiosity, what is the advantage of changing instance. If all instances are federated and you can, therefore , subscribe to any instance what would be the reason to migrate?

I have no problem paying an app developer to remove ads.

But I'm not going to pay an organisation that has just hiked it's API prices which means it's now going to be earning a fortune from the likes of Google/Microsoft.

Fuck u/spez

Maybe someday one of the politicians will grow a pair and either launch rejoin agenda or at the least a Norway/Swiss model.

It should be clear to anyone with more than an 🦠 for a brain cell that it is a failed ideal.

Agreed, I've been using it for about 6 years after moving from iOS to Android and its great, fits all the points required by OP.

I think Reddit would argue they don't /s

I think Reddit is going to end up killing itself I don't think it needs help.

I've been using a variety of LibreTube and revanced on my phone and tablet as I only have mobile devices.

For the first time I opened a link which went to the native app, OMG it is unusable with ads.

If that's the expected way of using YouTube then I'm out, especially as I live in a location where I can't pay for Premium even if I wanted to

If it helps I woke to water dripping on my head from the apartment upstairs.

Awesome start to the day, organising repairs and now have to wait for internal water to dry and them repair the problems.

Ah, great start to the week

If Lemmy supported user instance blocking I would agree with you, but until then this is the best option available.

Sadly I think implosion would have been much more merciful than the alternative.
