*Permanently Deleted*

It’s a bit scary after he himself mentioned it would be a tough story to put together but at the same time I’m here for it. I’d rather have Denis do it than JJ Abram’s or some other schmuck completely changing tone mid-story

Hotel prices

Reply in thread

Yes, our US hotel industry has mostly been monopolized by Wyndham and a few other companies. They all build large hotels with the same layout. If you try and go under that price point you get stuck with motels, which have mostly been phased out by our culture from taboo & cleanliness anecdotes. Definitely a far fetch from the experience in Europe and other places. The closest we get is Airbnb like set-ups of personal homes rented out.

Sauce Rule

I wonder how much of this is correlation with high sugar sauces/candies that just happen to have Red40 vs Red 40 actually causing it. Anecdotal only goes so far. That being said, get that shit outta here for good.

What do you think Elon Musk is actually doing?

My guess is dismantling citizen protections to allow him to do as he pleases to create a long lasting legacy. The guy probably realizes the sky is the limit and wants to be able to do anything he wants without laws and other frivolous things in his way. Especially if he is controversial his name will ring out through history as “influential” whether it’s good stuff or bad (seems like he’s okay with bad)

Cops of lemmy, what's it like marijuana being not a big deal then all the sudden a really big deal then back to being like probably not a big deal to it probably becoming a really big deal again?

Son of a cop here: I don’t think moral, normal people police officers care a ton about the small possession charges unless it involves DUI or domestic violence of some sort. Catching truckloads of the stuff driving through the small town was a big deal sometimes. I hope/think that hasn’t changed much despite laws going back and forth. Now, to dickhead power hungry hometown heroes that join the force because they got chubby and became skill-less after highschool football, they probably have never changed their stance and will still find ways to tack on charges of public impairment
