Whew! It’s a good thing trucks never go through cross walks or across curb cuts to get into parking lots and drive throughs.

The only reason people ride scooters on the sidewalks is because our infrastructure is severely lacking and you get stuck “sharing” a lane with a 6000+lb truck.

Trump voters feel very differently about things now that he’s won, our new poll shows

My in-laws are staying with us this week. Fortunately they both are reasonable and voted Kamala but I have heard nothing but Medicare advantage commercials every 5 minutes as they watch live tv (something we never do).

Medicare advantage is a huge scam that takes all your Medicare money and gives it to private insurance companies. It is shocking that we allow people to be bombarded with this day in and day out. It doesn’t surprise me this same group was bombarded with lies from the right for the past year. Lies that don’t match reality. And as those lies come to light, they will feel duped. But either it will be too late or they are too stubborn to admit it.

Republicans Are Planning to Totally Privatize Medicare -- And Fast

I saw an article recently that over half of people of whom Medicare is available to are now on Medicare Advantage plans, which are actually private plans that take all your Medicare allotment and may not provide better coverage

It is shocking, but I guess 24/7 commercials on Fox News work 😞

It is a huge scam and the government never should have allowed it…but capitalism at all costs, I guess.

The Trump administration has made drastic cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that threaten to impact weather forecasting (headline from four months ago)

Since 2013 we’ve seen disenfranchisement in Alabama in real time. Require strict new voter id, then close the DMVs in black and left leaning areas. Combine polling places in democratic leaning areas so they are further away and have long lines. Move polling places so they are no longer accessible by bus. Those are just the obvious ones, but the Republicans’ strategy has been to do anything they can to stop people from voting.

How do the Republicans feel about Project 2025 now?

It would be one thing if we were debating different ways to solve health care, education, incarceration, mental health, homelessness, wealth inequality, or something else.

While I personally think the right is wrong in their solutions I’d be happy to debate them.

But the right isn’t talking about these issues or solutions for them. You can’t have a debate when you’re talking about two completely different things.
