What do you think about the dead internet theory?

Ok, I don't want to actually advertise for something paid, but in this case it is a free thing Kagi provides: https://kagi.com/smallweb/ They have basically a (curated? I think) list of human created non-corp things to look through. It is also a filter option if you pay for Kagi search, but the standalone page is free.

Mhhhh, doesn’t seem worth it. But the real important question, do I also have to do this at 2 am in the morning?

Pretty US centric world view. Depending on where OP lives it might be vastly different.

Of course! If I'm paid the rate I'm usually paid when I have to get up at 2 am in the morning, I gladly get rick rolled! :D

Not debating that this is not the case in other parts of the world (10 of 195 sounds also a bit arbitrary though. Would love to see some kind of data about that, but I guess it's kind of a very specific question). Could have skipped the first sentence of my original post maybe.

I’m still wondering if anyone is using them. I know quite a few people with all kind of sexual orientations as preferences and no one ever used them once. But maybe that’s just how it’s around here?

Not really specific. Quite some counties have regulations and protections for their workers. I want to point out that the “default” option shouldn’t be displayed as the norm, even if it is common, because it is the worst possible option. It normalises a situation which shouldn’t be normal (and can be fought).
There is no way to point out the differences without making an example. In this case I was able to use my own situation as an example, in other cases where I’m not in a so lucky situation, I would have used a more general one.

Of course it is. I'm salaried and I'm very much forbidden to work at night without a specific additional contract. So my salaried ass just can say "no" to any requests to look at stuff at 2 am in the morning without any repercussions. If they want me to do that, that has to be negotiated and has to be paid separately.

Ladybugs rescued my plants this summer! I actually ordered 20 of them to get rid of aphids (and the ants which came with them). They took a week, then everything alive was eaten. They actually took up a fight with the ants. There were some casualties, but apparently the ladybugs won.
Felt a bit silly to order bugs in the mail, but collecting them took ages and one looks ridiculous hunting for ladybugs in the park.

I think saving up 1,5 billion with a normal job is not... realistic. At that point winning the lottery is the more realistic chance, as crazy as it sounds.

But also, why is everybody so offended by censored words here?
I think because it's a sign how social media corps have trained us to avoid certain words or even create new ones (for example "unalive" instead of "kill").

Mullvad Browser and Tor Browser have unique-per-computer persistent IDs on fingerprint.com
Reply in thread
Aha! I figured it out. Apparently my Tor browser got old extensions in there from older Tor versions (Tor Button and something i can't remember, they were set to deprecated and were disabled). I had Tor literally installed for... over 10 years or something, so I would imagine it didn't reset itself properly after doing one update or another. After removing the Tor Browser data folder and reinstalling it (for good measure, don't think that was necessary), I get random values on the page.
EDIT: One additional thought on that... I feel this is something Tor Browser should consider automatically when applying updates. At least a warning would be good to reset your data once in a while to stay non-unique.
