RFK Jr.’s anti-vaccine panel realizes it has no idea what it’s doing, skips vote
They did vote to restrict access to the Measels/Mumps/Rubella vaccine for children under 4. Monsters.
For those who don't know, that vaccine is the origin of the modern anti-vaccine movement. A company marketing stand-alone vaccines was mad that somebody made a combo vaccine, making theirs unmarketable, so they funded fraudulent studies to block it.

Vaccine critic RFK Jr. backs measles vaccine amid deadly Texas outbreak
It's a good time to note that this is the vaccine the autism bullshit stems from. If he was genuine in his views, this is the one vaccine it would make sense for him to oppose.

YSK: you can stop Microsoft users from sending 'reactions' to your email by adding a "x-ms-reactions: disallow" header
Outlook's own reaction handling is terrible. It adds the reaction icon to the email, but it doesn't mark it as unread or bring it to the top. The next day, I get an email with all the reactions for the day.
"Available for a meeting at 9 tomorrow?" 👍
Then the daily digest shows up at 9 and the meeting was never scheduled.

I cant decide between roblox and godot
Roblox is not a game engine. It's a child labor farm. Stay well away.
There are a lot of simple tutorials for Godot. It's not hard to get into.

TIL Debian releases are named after Toy Story characters
Similarly, VLC names their releases after Discworld characters. It's a fun way to make major versions feel like more than just a number increment.

Amazon has pulled the beginning text from the 2010 Robinhood Movie which says the outlaw is a nessesity against tyrants and injustice Delete Prime
This is a international variant of the video. The intention is to have the text rendered as a forced subtitle so that it can be localized without having to serve a different video for every language.
They don't have the English version doing that, likely because it was assumed it would serve the original video instead.

This is the British meaning of surgeon, so just general doctor vs. doctor who cuts people up.
A police surgeon is a doctor trained in forensics. They assess injuries after an assault, whether a prisoner needs medical attention, etc. They are often a normal operating doctor who does police work when needed.

All four major web browsers are about to lose 80% of their funding | by Dan Fabulich | Apr, 2025
Reply in thread
Nobody can make a successful browser that is simpler. The moment a user hits a website that no longer works, they are going back to their old browser.
All these new features exist because websites replaced every single program most people used. Web browser now have to be capable of doing anything pretty well. It's not some grand conspiracy to take over the internet, it's providing the features devs want so they can deliver the things they want in the modern multiplatform no-install world.

Plenty of 60-year-olds play games. They were in their 20's and 30's as gaming matured. The N64 and PS1 target audience was people who are now in their 50's and 60's.

How do you block firearm parts at the printer level without analyzing and judging the files a user provides?
Even if this was possible (it's not), most printers don't have the kind of processing power needed to reverse slicing back into the solid object so that it can be compared with banned parts. They'd either have to put in much larger computers and spike the cost per unit or do it server-side and be always-online.

In line with Francis on migrants and the poor. He thinks social elements like position on LGBT issues should be set at the regional level and align with local cultural acceptance.
In other words, slightly progressive from a Catholic leadership standpoint, but conservative when compared against Western Europe.

Their argument is that "reproductive cancers" are covered, but that breasts are only a "reproductive organ" on women.

Ex-Warner Bros. Exec Reveals the Real Reason Shadow of Mordor's Much-Loved Nemesis System Was Created
Summary: They were seeing a disconnect between Arkham Asylum player stats and sales, indicating a large portion of the playerbase blasting through the game then selling it back to retailers. WB studios were directed to explore ways to lengthen player engagement, preferably enough to keep the game forever.
The nemesis system gives some light procedural flair to an otherwise-deaigned experience. I don't think it did what they hoped it would, but it was still a great mechanic.

Trump Says He Hammered Out ‘Complex’ Greenland Deal with NATO: ‘This Is Forever’
"Forever. be forever" Trump said about the deal. "That's better than the Obama deal with the famous Iran nuclear deal, with a nine-year deal. No, this is forever. This is long-term."
What an asshole. Blows up a significant measure in limiting the spread of nukes, then acts like it fell apart on its own.
