I’d like to warn you that a sudden change in her recommendations could seem to her like the whole internet got censored and she can’t see the truth anymore.

This is exactly the response my neighbors have. "Things get censored, so that must mean that the gov must be hiding this info" It's truly insane to see this happen

Are you saying they were going to... regReddit?

This is pure, artistic and linguistical gold. Bravo!

Just created an account to check out Lemmy. I'm not sure I fully understand the concept of this, but time will manage, I guess

I stared too long at it and now my screen looks green -_-'

Same as you would stop arguing offline, recognise the moment the argument isn’t going anywhere helpful and leave/defuse the conversation. Life’s too short to be arguing with people who you will probably never meet or see.

Sometimes it’s the reason people choose just to lurk or choose not to comment on posts at all.

And what's so wrong about boring clicking games..?

All jokes aside, these two parts (as well as part three) perfectly describe how I've been experiencing social media as well. The same goes for Whatsapp since the Facebook / Meta take-over, where suddenly everything needs to be connected to one specific platform to formulate profiles where advertisers could pick and choose the customers they would like to address.

Anyways, came to this post via your comment and I'm pretty glad I did. Good read and good eulogy!

Thanks for the link! Was wondering how to look for new communities without having to search in the communities search option on lemmy.world itself

Sounds perfect to check out what the fediverse is all about through a somewhat official channel :)

I mean, I created this account on lemmy.world after the whole Reddit black-out riots, but haven't picked it up after that, although I have been lurking around.

Thanks! And thanks for the offer as well, I'll reach out once I figure out how xD But so far, it's quite the experience to learn this type of platform

Great news! Checking it out and it feels really good to use!

Currently not grinding anything besides smithing rune 2h for high alching to get some cash as f2p. Been member couple times on the free to play route, but when I become members again, I'm shooting for the music cape

I really like this one! It fits well

Okay, that's hecking adorable <3

I think you can request an account yourself at tildes.net via and e-mailaddress

Hi Ruud! Ik wil jou en ulu_mulu bedanken voor het maken van de Lemmy starting guide! Hiermee begint het concept van een gedecentraliseerd sociaal netwerk steeds meer duidelijk te worden. Super handig!
