That said, if I saw something at the thrift store by a problematic creator, I would consider purchasing it because they don’t get money for it. My favorite thrift store supports the animal rescue where I adopted my rabbits from. They have books and CDs for a dollar so I’m ok buying from them if it’s a piece of media I truly want to absorb and the money would go to a good cause.

Personally, this situation would fall into issues I have with other bands/authors/popular figures and how I handle their material. If I own copies of their media, whether on CD or downloaded files or physical books, I will continue to listen to or read it if I do enjoy it. I will no longer purchase anything new, stream on any platform, or borrow anything from the library as a way to show my non-support.

An example: I loved Coraline by Gaiman. That guy is a gross creep, but I already own a copy of the book and the Blu-ray, so I keep my copies and do not purchase anything I do not already own.

None of the women in my family really talked about menopause or perimenopause when I was young. I didn’t really learn what to expect until my best friend started talking about some of the things she was going through, mostly about hot flashes and night sweats. She is 10 years older than me, so she’s a little further along in the process.

Other than that, I’ve learned a lot more from coworkers who are very open about their experiences. I have been able to listen to conversations my older peers have about things that have worked for them and they share resources whenever possible. More recently, after spending time with my Aunts, I had the opportunity to discuss when they started experiencing changes and at what ages.

The Stuff scared the fucking shit out of me as a child, I definitely watched it way too young. My mom told me that after watching the movie, she was helping me in the bathroom and she had to leave because the phone was ringing (I was young enough I still needed help to go to the bathroom). When she came back I was standing on top of the toilet lid crying and screaming that the stuff was going to come up out of the toilet and get me.

I haven’t been able to watch it again. I understand it’s a comedy and I would probably enjoy it, but I’m way too fucking traumatized to even try.

I’ve been in exactly 1 physically abusive relationship. The first time could have been legitimately an accident. He swung his elbow behind him when he was laying down and angry, he hit my side. Second time it was a slap to my body and I noped the fuck out because fuck that shit!

Yeah, I was just explaining Lemmy/PieFed to a friend the other day and they didn’t quite get it. I left all the mainstream social media sites because I could see what the algorithm is doing to people, but so many that are entrenched in those sites just don’t see it.

Bach is fun. I played a lot of basic classical stuff they teach in high school. My favorite was playing the Psycho theme song, that one was really fun to play!

That really sucks. My Aunt has MS and it’s not a fun thing to go through at all. Having to deal with thinking you have MS, then told you “congratulations you don’t” when you still feel like shit must be infuriating.
