Is not you. I'm just lazy.
My experience has been the opposite. I built a new PC last year, and only Fedora and Arch recognized the Radeon GPU and the Intel Wi-Fi. Mint was shipping a kernel that was too old to recognize either one.

Seriously. I hear a lot from the right that public transit, bike routes, and social programs need to be profitable or they shouldn't exist. With no mention of the roads they drive on every day.

Tiling wm aren’t for everyone so why are they all so excited for this?
There seems to be an expectation in the Linux community that everybody who sticks with Linux long-term will eventually "graduate" to a tiling wm someday. Even though I've used Linux for 20 years and still prefer KDE.

I ditched Linux for Windows 11 for one week - and found 9 big problems
"Why do people willingly use Windows?"
Because they are brainwashed into thinking it's the easiest platform, and that any problems they encounter are because that's just how computers are.

Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on it
Reply in thread
Not to mention the water depletion and electricity costs that the people who live near AI data centers have to deal with, because tech companies can't be expected to be responsible for their own usage.

7 Eleven near me doesn’t stock large cups so customers can’t use the app or T Mobile deals.

When I worked at a convenience store that is now owned by 7-Eleven, we always honored deals on the next size up if we ran out. So yeah, it does appear malicious to me.

No, the ones who are paying for the energy are the people who live near whatever data centers received the slop requests.

‘I am not done’: Kamala Harris says she may run for president again
Oh no... She's the reason we are stuck with Old Orange Julius Caesar right now.
Anyone who's in denial of this should look up her 2020 presidential campaign. It wasn't the 107 days she had to campaign in 2024. You can't just answer every question by saying you're from a middle class family.

whotd uses brave

There are more problems with Brave than just the CEO. The Brave browser itself has quite a history of deceptive and ethically questionable practices, such as replacing ads with its own, conning people into donating to crypto wallets by making them think they're donating to creators, and sneaking in affiliate codes. A browser with that kind of record should never be trusted, especially by people who care about privacy.

The Truth

The dems dropped the ball in the 2024 election, by pretending Biden was sharp as a tack and gaslighting us about his mental health until they couldn't hide it anymore during that disastrous debate, and since they lied about him so long, they replaced him with someone who flopped HARD in 2020 and lost the election in 2024.
I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primaries and watched as the DNC did everything they could to destroy him and install a good little establishment guy like Biden.
When Trump's a psychopath and the opposition keeps gaslighting us about the mental health of the president so long that they have no choice but to hand pick a replacement because it's too late for a primary, a lot of people are just going to say "fuck it" and not vote.
They're still being delusional and refusing to face facts. Hopefully they can learn from this.

Do populists always crash the economy?
Tell me you don't understand populism without telling me you don't understand populism.
Populism is about appealing to regular people. Trump gets called a populist because his campaign rallies spoke to the working class, but his actions are anything but populist. Bernie Sanders and AOC are true populists because they push for policies that help the majority of the population.
We need to stop demonizing the concept of populism and to stop associating it with Trump or nothing will ever get fixed in this hell hole of a country. True populism is about taking care of the people.
