What do you think about HIPAA or similar legislature in your country?

It's not funny, it's sad. The HIPAA releases to you sign gives permission to pretty much use you info for any reason whatsoever.

In the past, it was pretty much impossible to get your medical records.

Now that they are digitized, everyone and their uncle has access, legitimately or otherwise. Medical institutions don't hire the best to secure their data. It's all security theater.

Patient privacy best protected by a doctor's poor handwriting.

Back when giants ruled the earth, a snooper need to trek across the country, ask a harried file clerk for the file that hopefully wasn't lost, wade through a a foot thick folder, then hopefully decipher the doctors shitty handwriting before finding out about anything juicy. In any case, the file was burned in 7 years or so because the file room needed space.

Nowadays, any secretary can instantly access the data from a computer on the other side of the continent and the files are never purged.

The "watchers" protected MLK's peaceful protest . Armed protectors.

Needed to prevent KKK from driving a truck or attacking the protest. Not part of protest but the KKK knew about it.

MLK gave the government a choice between MLK or Malcom X.

Guess who was chosen? Guess who is forgotten?

Every physician in the world uses Nazi data collected using the corpses of Jews. Most anatomy books uses drawings mad by Nazis. Just the swastikas have been airbrushed out. The data collection was never repeated.

Gentoo is great. I can configure it exactly the way I want. I switched to it after redhat went enterprise and never looked back. Stage 1 install.

However, sometimes packages get out of sync an I have build problems that need to be diagnosed.

Sometimes some packages get deprecated & I have to redo my configuration.

Deprecating python 2.7 was especially fun.

Back in the day, manual config of x11 was needed and that was fun. Back in the redhat days, the x11 configuration was in multiple places which was confusing.

Sound still is erratic after the laptop goes to sleep.

I did a manual transition from X to Wayland and that took a bit of learning.
