Statue Facts Nobody Asked For

Men need to better communicate their domestic desires in sexual pantomime. Like, do a humping gesture but then do a baby rocking gesture then pretend you're playing catch outside. "I'm trying to make a Little Leaguer here!"

SteamOS expands beyond Steam Deck

SteamOS is where I hang a LOT of faith now. Just, like, generally.

Here's hoping this is the beginning of a freer world from the personal technology standpoint.

I love my Steam Deck. I'm browsing the Fediverse on it right now. Desktop mode is a bit of that unpolished Linux experience you can get but it's really not bad at all. I mean, I fucking love it!

Publishers are absolutely terrified "preserved video games would be used for recreational purposes," so the US copyright office has struck down a major effort for game preservation

Cool. Guess I'll leave you and them in the past.

All the best games are cool about providing software resources to players, mod abilities, self-hosting, so on. It's kind of like the Steam license thing. I love Steam but there's no way I'm starting Helldivers 2 or Destiny 2 up in ten years to play nostalgia. But Shattered Pixel Dungeon? Deep Rock Galactic? Valheim? Minecraft. I'll still be rocking those.

Mastodon’s founder cedes control, refuses to become next Musk or Zuckerberg

"Why can't the algo find me better content?"

Motherfucker, it's social media. You have to get social with people. Make a fucking friend, right?

Like, I fixed that shit by following George Takei and Mark Hamill and some reporters. The algo shouldn't be finding things for you. You should be finding people.

Yeah, scratching my head just the same. My only problem with Mastodon is the same I had with StumbleUpon. It's way too good about putting neat people and conversations in front of me and I feel bad not rising to the occasion more when I just want to deadbrain.

Steam Ate Microsoft's Lunch On PC, It's About To Do The Same On Handhelds

They were talking about SteamOS 2.0 being Debian and made for general hardware and SteamOS 3.0 being Arch based and really only meant for the Steam Deck, though it's unclear if there's drivers enough to put it on other hardware, but we're looking at Powered By SteamOS devices coming out. So, am I to take it that SteamOS 3.0 is implied to be capable of installing on alternate hardware now?

Like, I'm just going to stick with my Steam Deck but it's interesting to think you can make Steam Machines again.
