these folks sure are quiet these days
Friendly reminder that Joe Biden is still the president and could stop sending weapons to Israel right now if he wanted to. But he doesn't.

"The American experiment endures," Biden said. "We're going to be OK."

Except that they've spent the last 6 months telling everyone that it's a choice between them and fascism. Then when fascism comes they're like "oh well, we tried".
I'm just hoping that this loss will eventually make the Dems look inward, but I'm not holding my breath when he's saying shit like this.

Voting is changing the Oil to keep the engine running
If the Dems are serious about beating Trump, they still have time to pick a different candidate in their primaries. Joe Biden is clearly very unpopular - the last election was way too close, and this one is at real risk of Trump winning.

I tried explaining to some of my non-technical friends what a "Linux distribution" is. Most don't quite understand what I mean by "operating system". I think we're in a bit of a bubble here.

He also made the bizarre argument that Eric Garner was killed by overzealous regulation of cigarette sales rather than, you know, a violent cop.

I'd love to see Bjarne Stroustrup being grilled by Congress about this, and have to explain shared pointers and reference counting to the same people who didn't understand how Facebook made money.

I think the parent poster's point is that Biden didn't have to win a primary this time, because they didn't have one.

Now that there's evidence it's been used for this, the US can no longer use this excuse. If they don't stop selling these munitions to Israel now then it's definitely intentional.

There are actually still people playing the original Unreal Tournament from 1999 on public servers. I occasionally jump on one of them and it's still the glorious chaos it always was!

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16 and Foamstars all sold less than expected, Square Enix president says

I bought 16 on PS5 at release and it's definitely worth waiting for a sale. The combat is pretty great but I find the story pretty mediocre (although I haven't finished it yet) and the world is just so drab and full of predictable characters. This is Final Fantasy, give us some colour! In FFVI you could play as a Yeti teaming up with a girl who paints her enemies to death along with a guy who can suplex a train!
I've been enjoying FFVII Remake though, and planning to get Rebirth once I'm done with it

I don't mind this personally. The world of FFVII is huge, and the remaster has so much more detail in it. It's not like the remasters are short games, expecting the entire FFVII story to be told in this kind of detail in one £50 box is kind of a big ask.
