Pollution is not the only issue with cars. In fact, I would argue that this is not the main one in cities. A car has negative impact on infrastructure, public space sharing, safety, etc. Electric or not.

This reminds me of Patrick Combs who deposited a fake junk mail check "for the joke" in 1995 and actually received the 95000$ in his personal bank account. The story of what happened after is actually really interesting. Here is a good video about it (it is in french but there is good subtitles in english, and a lot of the video is in english anyway). He manage to write a book about it, became some kind of national hero representing the honest simple man vs the big banks, and became a motivational speaker, telling the story of his war with the bank, all the intimidation, fears, etc.

Don't know what games you are playing, but I game myself quite heavily and doing it exclusively on Linux. Steam proton has changed a lot of things for Linux gaming. Only issues are with anti cheat. So if you are playing single player you are good to go. Multiplayer can be difficult, it depends on the game. I have 200 hours on Apex in Linux.

Yes, I had the same feeling reading some comments on one of the community I browse. Dev difficulties are still there and not the same. Don't understimate netcode, or just simply gun feel, balancing, map design, sound design. Those are very difficult to get right even if you do not have to write a story or code NPCs. Each games have different challenges.
