The scale of destruction in Gaza is incomprehensible to me. Like, I see the picture, I know it's awful, I feel for those affected, but there's some kind of disconnect.

It's the same feeling when I look at images of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Just all emotion is preempted by a numbness, an inability to process. It's difficult for me to explain, actually. It's a picture of gray rubble that used to be people and their homes and workplaces and gathering places, but the picture is totally depersonalized. It's lifeless, both literally and figuratively. No bodies, no blood, no color at all. Look at it from a distance it might look like TV static.

Almost certainly not. All the offshoots from Mozilla's tech rely first and foremost on Mozilla's production of the foundational software, which eats up a significant portion of their roughly $500M/yr operational costs. The heavy development cost of modern browsers is why everything is either Chromium or Gecko-based.

That said, Mozilla will be around as long as Chromium continues to dominate the market. Google literally funds Mozilla because it's cheaper to prop up a competitor than it is to be sued by the government for monopolistic practices (check out 1998 decision against Microsoft for bundling Internet Explorer with Windows).

If she's nominated, it's a fix. Classic authoritarian playbook: maintain the illusion of democracy by propping up an opponent that you aren't likely to lose to. Then, stuff the ballot boxes anyway.

Horseshit. Conservatives have been raising their children for a generation to believe dying for Trump's America is a worthy cause.

Problem is that the school-to-prison pipeline is a very real thing and kids that are held back or don't finish school are far more likely to end up in prison than those that finish. The way school systems work in most of the US, the differences in outcomes for those with and without a high school diploma are stark and depressing. Finishing is as important as the education itself.
