when the video is just the thumbnail
Sometimes I think the algorithm pushes that crap because the kind of people who fall for it are the kind of people that don’t block ads on youtube.

ASDA can fuck right off
So did they release Christmas snacks early, or are they selling old food?

My work is hosting an employee event at a MLB game. I don’t care about baseball at all, so I was understandably pissed after the MLB and Ticketmaster apps thoroughly violated my privacy and made me give every bit of my information up, couldn’t even use a burner email because my work helpfully gave them my real one. Parking is apparently a nightmare so they suggested getting a 90 minute bus chain there.
Anyway it turns out we can’t even see the game. It’s some sort of little patio restaurant just outside the stadium that shows the game on TVs. I’m pissed.

"For the first time in over 20 years, a majority of South Koreans have an unfavorable opinion of the U.S." - Pew Research Center
I’ve always felt that the south korean comics I would read were unusually pro-US, but didn’t think much of it. Sometimes (not always) they cast some of the worst parts of our culture in a good light, like leaning very pro-capitalist pro-big tech. I just read something else.
A while back though I read one that portrayed Trump in their story as this muscular, strong willed character who was quick to mobilize the US in defense of the civilians of a foreign country. And I’m just like, how did the author get to this point? Who’s pushing for MAGA simp propaganda in south korea? It’s crazy.
If anything this graph reads like common sense.

People in the US also gives zero fucks whether he decides they shouldn’t do business with Ontario. He can set tariffs, but business owners decide if they work with Ontario.
This guy is so delusional.

The "mysterious ways" are strangely convenient
I always particularly hated this argument. “Who am I to try to understand god’s wisdom in allowing human suffering?” If god made us unable to understand why he does things, then what the fuck is the point of religion. He clearly doesn’t give a shit what we think, so we should ignore him instead of wasting our time. He can do his good works regardless of our participation.
If a priest replied “I’m not sure why he would do that, let’s try harder to figure it out” then at least continued devotion would make sense under the condition of accepting the premise. The thought terminating cliche of “God works in mysterious ways” just invalidates the whole thing.

You've probably had a hard day
I always felt the poor information sharing in Star Wars contributed strongly to the universe being so interesting. Usually people would get on a spaceship and fly to another planet to learn something new. A lot of secret info being passed around on USB equivalents. Anything they have coming close to an internet sucks and is going down constantly. If one of them has a walkie talkie then it has no other functions, and will probably stop working mid mission.
My point being that the second Anakin left Tattooine, no one who knew him probably ever heard about him again. Hell, in the original Star Wars movie they made it seem like Vader himself wasn’t even well known to the common people.

Could be true, but they have hologram communicators that work on an interstellar scale in real time. Technology is just weirdly lopsided in general there, I like it.

Damn, this one is actually me_irl. I had intentions to split off a set portion each month of that GIANT college educated paycheck I heard about as a kid to go to various charities. I planned to start as soon as I bought a house. Still waiting on that house.

I bet after those high-effort cheat sheets you memorized the materials anyway haha.
I used to put notes into my TI-83. It was hard enough to convert the formulas into a calculator-friendly format that I usually memorized it and didn’t need to check them any more.

A bunch of miscellaneous behind-the-scenes stuff
Shanks calling Daniel a whiny little bitch weirdly relieves my biggest hangup on this show, knowing that isn’t his best attempt at being cool but rather intentionally played like that. Loved the show anyway but even more now.
