Back when Animaniacs and the Pinky and the Brain spin-off were first airing there was a fan theory going around that Pinky was actually the super genius mouse and Brain was the moron. I remember feeling that this theory had a lot of merit at the time, but it's been so long since I've seen the show I don't know if I can confidently say to what extent it holds up. If I ever get around to rewatching it, I'm definitely going to be watching through that lense though.
I think there was one episode where they actually do take over the world, but somehow Pinky ends up being the leader and things go very well. Might just be making shit up though.
