What is something that happened you initially thought was bad but ended up being grateful for and saw as very positive?

Last year my yearly medical checkup results indicated that I have a tumor. After a couple of months of stressing and additional tests, it ended up as being a false alarm. This was one of the best things that happened to me in a long time, it gave me a good kick in the ass to start working on myself and my mental health. I started seeing a counsellor, started to travel abroad for vacation twice per year, stopped stressing so much amout my job, etc..

Amazon Ring Cashes in on Techno-Authoritarianism and Mass Surveillance

We had a burglary a couple of months ago, luckily we have an indoor camera which scared him away when he saw it and nothing was stolen. On the camera recording, we heard that he was ringing the doorbell for a couple of minutes to check if anyone is at home. We now have a camera doorbell (not Ring one though), if we had it then he would see it and avoided our house altogether.

Steam Deck / Gaming News #7

I'm currently playing and old obscure RPG called Evil Islands, I bought it on GOG. Now, you might be wondering how on earth did I come upon this game? Back in the old days, gaming magazines had a CD filled with game demos, and young me replayed the Evil Islands demo quite a few times. I never actually played the complete game, so when I saw it on sale on GOG I thought - why not play it for old times sake :). The game itself is... different. Weird leveling/skill system, relys on stealth and save scumming a lot, dialogues and story are so-so, but I'm having fun playing it.
