I'm at a friend's place and the cat keeps bringing in dead (or half-dead) animals into the house. It's my understanding that cats think we are big, helpless kittens that don't know how to hunt. Hence, they think they are doing us a favour.

It seems like a few mice actually escaped and found refuge in some walls in the house, so these "presents" are actually more than just annoying (and smelly if the dead animal ends up behind the couch).

Now that the war is lost, time to focus on #Epstein again.

Pretty much every company I've been in or know of values a vertical trajectory instead of a horizontal one for its employees i.e becoming a manager nearly always means a faster salary progression than becoming an expert in one or multiple fields.

Why is expertise valued less?

I see people sharing links to peertube, youtube, streamable, imgur, and other sites in communities in order to share videos. For the non-federated ones, it's understandable if there is no option, but for content creators, is it possible to share a video directly from peertube into a community?

I don't know if it's possible by adding @[email protected] for example in the text of a description and then removing it or doing something else.

The goal here is that when sharing the video, the comments on the video are also sent to the video's page. Is that possible?

Any time I want to catch with official news about what's going on, I have to scour the web. All they have a is Discord server which is a data-mining operation and a subreddit that has a bunch of random posts that are on topic, but not necessarily news.

The homepage doesn't have an official account for anything (peertube, mastodon, pixelfed, not even instagram or Xitter). What's going on?
