Yeah, to me, A' checks out since that would mean NOT A which I believe was what you were getting at.

"Flushable wipes"; "dishwasher-safe"; "odourless" - What are some other blatant lies that companies get away with?
"biodegradable". For PLA Plastics, they are only biodegradable under commercial composting environments (CNC Kitchen made a video about it). For other things, I think it is mostly the same (CBC Made a video on this too (they looked at plastic alternatives though, and the duration of their testing was a bit short))

The Fediverse Only Makes Time for Real Artists

Same here. AI slop has turned me (and my brother) off of YouTube shorts. Like 80-90% of the content is AI, and you have to play detective for most of them (to find out it's AI generated)

China should demand the right to openly sell fentanyl within the borders of the UK. If the UK refuses, they should declare war to force open Britain's ports.

Why did you join Lemmy?
l was browsing around on r/kde sometimes, and there was a banner-thing Saying that KDE Supported open platforms like Lemmy. I took a look at Lemmy's Wikipedia, and browsed around a few days later. I liked the stuff on c/programmerhumour, So I joined.
Also my Reddit account got banned (i think, might be deactivated, idk) due to inactivity (I wasn't on for 2-3 years), and I didn't care to do anything about it.
Also, as a bit of context for the above, it did take a while from hearing about Lemmy and browsing and joining.

do you still have to block the other two (hexbear and the other one, can't remember the name rn.)? I have .ml blocked, but I thought the other 2 got de-federated so blocking them wouldn't be necessary?

What Youtube channel has maintained high quality standards over the years?

+1 for Wendover, Half As Interesting, Real Engineering, Mustard, and Mentour Pilot.
Love those channels. Can somehow keep me engaged enough to watch a few hours of content on some random stuff. :)

Thanks for the reply! I found it very informative, also with regards to the blocking.
I do think it's stupid that there's no complete block feature in Lemmy. Also just found out that it apparently has a slower development speed compared to PieFed (with regards to features). This, and the founders of lemmy, are some factors making me consider switching to PieFed. I also heard that there were more features, but also stability concerns. Also most of those extra features are not there on mobile clients yet i believe.
I also checked, and Lemmy login does not work on PieFed.

Guys, what's the best Linux distro to install on my PC?
Reply in thread
From experience (this was a few years ago, but still holds up even today), yes. The GUI installer is very easy to use (there's lots of visual stuff to). The one thing that the installer does better that the Debian installer, in my opinion, is partitioning (there's more visual aids (a slider you can move around, I believe) (a disclaimer: this is basedoff of materials that i read online, not any personal experience)).
If you want images and stuff, you can always look up 'Calamares installer' (which I believe is the installer Mint uses)
Wish you the best of luck on your linux journey!

he would be in jail if he didn't get the idea to run for president a second time.
Let's just hope that we see the whole trials thing re-emerge once he is done, that has the best chances of locking him up (dare I say 100% ?). Though I do feel that he deserves worse, whatever that may be.

I just wanted to say,
It's always an adventure down some new tangent that, with the right question (they love questions) can turn into a rabbit
hole.
I (also?) have a friend who has ADHD. This is my most favourite thing about our conversations. To look back and think "how did we get here?" is fun/interesting to me. I also feel that they are intellectually stimulating, but that may just be him.

What is your development environment?
OS: Debian (Trixie)
DE: KDE Plasma
I use vim for light edits. Currently using VSCodium, but am slowly trying out Kate. I use codeberg as Version Control, and Konsole as the terminal.
I also have notepadqq (a native alternative to notepad++), but prefer vim and am also trying to switch to Kate.
