What's the craziest cooling methods at the moment?

Sorry to crash this as an American, but we have months of 45°C temperatures here in Texas with a really humid climate, so I might be able to offer some advice.

One summer my AC was out entirely for about a month. I survived by positively soaking a sleeveless tank in ice water and sitting around in that until it wasn't cooling me anymore and then soaking it again.

I recently found some ice packs that go around the neck, and they really work miracles for lowering one's body temperature. I always keep one in the freezer now for when I get back from a walk.

Louisiana sheriff retires after pleading guilty to beating podcaster who often criticized him

Sims told reporters on Wednesday that Smith’s guilty plea was an important public reminder that “everyone will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of your title”.

“We didn’t want to have special treatment of the sheriff,” Sims said. “We treat him like we treat every other citizen that commits an act like that.”

But he did get special treatment.

Tucker Carlson brands Republicans ‘treasonous’ as he quits the party

Yeah, he's a neonazi who is trying to get ahead of Trump's inevitable implosion.

He's still constantly espousing the racist "great replacement" theory, and his political project is to bring more people into the reactionary tent. For now, that means being critical of Israel, but that's only because he sees which way the wind is blowing.

Don't trust the snake that already bit you twice.

Ideas for Combat Downtime

Reply in thread

There goes my suggestion then!

I tend to run shorter campaigns of about 20 sessions or so. We change games all the time, but it definitely isn't for everyone.

I will say that the combat is a big reason that I don't run D&D; not that it's bad but my brain just doesn't work well with it, and I prefer a more improvisational kind of style.

I hope you find something that works for you; good on you for finding a way to value your players' time.
