Anon doesn't hold back

Remember kids. When playing against folks who aren't as good at a game as you, that's the time to either practice dumb silly shit or use the weapons you don't normally use.

Like, unless yall are labbing, it really sucks the air out of the room to dominate everyone.

Can someone explain PewDiePie

The fact that he wasn't concerned that a notable chunk of his audience was either fasc-y or being led down that path is concerning.

I remember The Comedy Button (a podcast comprised of mostly ex-IGN staff) during Gamergate. A few of their fans were espousing that kind of thought and the hosts shut that shit down quick. They lost a chunk of listeners, but you gotta kick the nazis out of the bar.

Meow

Reply in thread

IIRC, it's more that they over time figure out what sounds and actions get their owner's attention. We respond better, unconsiously or otherwise when they meow at us.

My old cat figured out, before I did, that if she knocks shit off the coffee table I get up and check if her bowl is empty.

Generally wild/feral adult cats are more or less mute outside of anger/mating/territory calls, but domesticated cats keep their kitten vocalizations if we respond to them.

My current cat is very vocal and we responded playfully to his meowing as he grew up.

Edit: Here's a scientific american blog/article about it. I don't think it's something we have confirmation on, just a good hunch.

What's the last gotcha question you used on someone that worked?

My buddy got himself a cat a few years ago. (She adopted him)

I would tease him about becoming a cat person. "I will never become a 'cat guy', I'm not going to spoil her. She's just a barn cat to keep the mice out"

The barn in question was the Mother-in-law house at his folks that he was staying in.

After a few months of us cat owners teasing him, I asked him point blank "have you ever slept in an uncomfortable position as to not disturb your cat?"

After a good half minute pause we got a "err, I mean yeah, I don't want to disturb her if she's asleep!"

He became a total cat dad until the day he moved into a dog house and left her with his folks. He still dotes on her when he comes home to visit.

Pokémon games have become consistently ugly, and it's alright to wish they weren't

It's such a shame. Pokemon has so much potential, but Gamefreak/TPC are... a bit shitty.

They could take a leaf from Morrowind. Open world, but use terrain and fog to hide the limitation and funnel the players along the points of interest.

Then late game let them go nuts, flying everywhere seeing the less than pretty areas.

Like Breath of the Wild had some empty ugly areas, but the worse areas were off the beaten path.

Also the bland areas were also usually hiding a shrine or something.

The content is free but the cost is not...

Last Podcast turned me on Pluto Tv a while back, and it's a serviceable service.

Behind the Bastards being sponsored by Raytheon (through I Heart Radio, blech) will never not be funny.

"You know who, Sophie, won't slaughter hundreds of civilians? Our Products and Services... Except Raytheon and Washington State Troopers"

Barred from running for a third term, Trump keeps talking about it

Reply in thread

I looked it up when I saw it, it seems like it comes from a fable with a similar moral to "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"

A camel sticks his nose under the edge of a tent for warmth, it's owner (or a stranger w/e) allows it to out of kindness. Then the camel slowly worms it's entire body in the tent and refuses to budge.

It's a slippery slope parable.

In a sane society Trump should be in prison.
