There's portable Firefox (lots of apps actually) packages also, no install necessary in the first place. Bummer if they are only allowed to run pre-approved applications. Switched from W10 to EndeavourOS about two weeks ago. Happy so far. The full-screen W11 ads/W10 deprecation warnings were what pushed me over the edge.

I liked freetube very much because I could export all subs to newpipe on my android. Adblock is a bit iffy on android browsers in my opinion, and newpipe works and looks a treat. Then youtube broke freetube. After about a week of it not working I stopped looking for an update and went back to browser+adblock on pc.

Switched to LibreOffice, and Betterbird for Mail. Works well so far. Using Vivaldi as a browser, that's a European project but with a modified Chrome core as far as I understand, the built-in AdBlocker works fine in combination with NoScript, even on mobile. Trying out Linux Mint so I can switch the OS when Windows 10 loses support later this year.
