"No precedent in American history!" NYT would have defended child labor.

Having past events to look at doesn’t inherently make analysis of a sufficiently complex issue any more certain, it’s just another data point. The title was specifically used to draw an emotional response and it achieved that goal by at least one person. Concluding the argument with ‘there’s no precedent so we can’t say’ is lazy at best but the reality is the title was chosen for the exact reason you blame the audience for delivering on. Tons of information can be broken down and analyzed in a way that even aspects of it would have comparable historical events. I doubt the economists that did the research would devolve their efforts into ‘eh, no clue, never happened before, we’re really only able to have ideas about things that have historical patterns which is really inconvenient’.

What the commenter was doing is expressing frustration over a failed system the article is covering. Calling someone stupid for expressing frustrations in an online comment over a failed system the article is about seems detached from reality or overly emotional and self centered. Stop jerking yourself off sometimes and recognize people will respond to things with emotions at times, especially on something with the barrier of entry being ‘can access the internet’.

Compressors are variable and much more efficient. More efficient and variable speed fan motors along with more efficient blade design. Insulation now is drastically better than glass wool of the past. Electronics are able to be integrated in order to provide more fine grain control and overall design has been improved just due to efficiency standards being placed on a bright yellow sticker. In the past design and component choices never really considered efficiency, while efficiency doesn’t always win out it’s a weighted factor and influences the overall engineering and design in ways that just didn’t happen before efficiency regulations came about.

The lack of curiosity is what kills me though. The amount of effort it took to figure things out that I didn’t know was far and away more effort than it would take to search with google how to open the associated archive. This has been something I’ve read up on also and I wonder if the intuitive spoon feeding of technology also impedes one’s willingness to tackle the easiest obstacles even if the solution is a literal search away. It feels like offloading their ignorance which rubs me wrong.

These are the fullest ones I have right now. I keep my flour and sugar in snap lids though. Edit: I shook them all before the picture

Edit2: I filled his greenies one, it was hard for me to palm and shake but I did shake it with two hands upside down before the picture:

Finally someone we can get behind!

Acknowledge the war crimes

Prosecute the war crimes

Pay reparations to the country and its harmed citizens

Acknowledge that as a country there is a lot to change

Pull back authority from the executive branch

Re-establish USAIDE

Commit resources to help rebuild, understand if it’s declined

Respect others cultures and autonomy

Campaign for global civil and human rights

I don’t know, I feel like a lot of things could be done to make the country and world a better place. It has to start with a real acknowledgement and acceptance that what happened was fucked up and that there is no way forward trying to cling onto some bullshit victory.

The entire world has things to worry about that is more important than geography and religion. Everyone helping and contributing to a mass global move to renewable green energy should be the top priority for everyone, and helping everyone get there because all of our lives have equal value. It needs to be addressed with the urgency of the depleting ozone layer was; it’s still probably too late anyway but with some common ground maybe everyone could walk away at least agreeing to respect each other.

War is so fucking barbaric, there is nothing civilized about what is going on, this shit isn’t a video game. An actual elementary school full of children was decimated in the first week, with a double tap strike at that, I don’t understand why that wasn’t enough to wake everyone the fuck up and acknowledge that well shit, we actually are the bad guys here, and actually do something about it instead of digging their heals in.

Some pigs you can’t unfuck but that doesn’t make the right answer to keep fucking the pig.

I hung and nullified a jury myself. It was very uncomfortable. At two points I requested the judge to come in and explain to the rest of the jurors I didn’t owe them any explanation for my not guilty verdict. It took the trial out an additional two days and everyone was pissed at me but I was not going to sit in my privilege and give a guy a felony conviction after months of obvious police harassment.

My kids, 10 and 14, are very anti corporate greed and I couldn’t be more proud. They also complain when they aren’t on the local WiFi if they are playing mobile games because the ads don’t get blocked. A couple years ago my youngest asked me to turn ads on so he could hatch monsters or something faster, I bypassed his device and a couple months later he was complaining that the game is a time sink full of ads and he doesn’t want to play it anymore and wants ad blocking re-enabled.

They aren’t perfect and I have never tried to preach to them too much. Not really sure where I was going with this but your post reminded me how much I appreciate that my boys actively avoid and protest against playing games with ads and micro transactions at such a young age and I felt like sharing with someone.

I never considered this would bother anyone. The vibrator gets used probably over half the time my partner and I have sex. Even when she cums from oral and we move to PIV then when I’m getting ready I’ll hand her the vibrator when I’m getting close because her climaxing again makes it hit a lot harder for me. Usually I’m inside of her actively while she uses it but on rare occasions when I go clean up she will stay back and finish for another time.
