TIL of the concept of the "glass cliff", whereby women or ethnic minorities are often handed the reins of power only as the organisation or government in question is at its most vulnerable to failure

You mean Cleopatra VII? There wasn't an VIII. Her father, Ptolemy XII, doesn't seem to have been assassinated. He specifically wanted her to be co-ruler with her younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, presumably because Cleo was both massively more competent and not ten years old, but thought their vassals might not have accepted a woman as sole ruler. XIII didn't like that Cleo was more popular than him and the real ruler of Egypt, so he tried to have her killed, starting a civil war. Cleopatra's faction won the war when XIII actually managed to accidentally drown himself fleeing a battle. Cleo then married her youngest brother, Ptolemy XIV, to solidify her rule. She likely had XIV assassinated to make her son the undisputed future Pharaoh after her, but there isn't anything resembling solid evidence either way.

Sometimes the key function works by keeping critical files on the disc and never installing them to the system. Might install the art assets but not the executable, for instance.

Blueray Discs, which max out at around 30-40GB of data at the top of my head
Single layer BDs are 25GB, but dual-layer BDs are 50GB and released simultaneously in 2006, 2010 introduced triple-layer discs with 100GB capacity, and we've had quadruple-layer discs at 125GB since 2018. I'm not sure I've ever even seen a single layer BD, to be honest.

Games haven't actually been played off of the disc in ages, though. The system typically just uses it for installation to the HDD or SSD and then as a key to allow the user to run the program.

Sinclair: "In order to be free, you had to learn to fight; no one questions that. But you've over-compensated. You're like abused children who have grown big enough to do the same thing to someone else... as if that will somehow balance the scales, it won't. If you let your anger cloud your judgement, it will destroy you."

Which is worse: Friends or Seinfeld?
Reply in thread
I mean, to be clear, Always Sunny is essentially a remake of Seinfeld. They modernized the setting and took advantage of modern broadcasting standards, but the show really is just Seinfeld 2: Philadelphia Boogaloo.

Epic also generated a lot of bad blood by scooping up Kickstarter projects and ordering the devs to cancel the Steam releases, releases that had already been paid for by backers. A bunch of potential customers refused to buy from Epic on principle after that.

They had all that free marketting from people assuming the third one would be the 720 and they ditched it in favor of calling it the Xbox One, which everyone was already using for the name of the first Xbox. Still baffled by that one.
