Rise of draconian anti-protest laws in Australia is highlighted by UN Special Rapporteur

Yeah totally they took the guns to prevent the peaceful protests of the far future, not because of the literal biker wars happening in the day. Great conspiracy 10 hats to you.

I'm so sorry but it's either/or & neither/nor. Gotta follow through with the negation.

I just finished migrating our last windows holdout in my house. Honestly very painless and while everyone is different we haven't had any regrets. Eol for Windows 10 was a fantastic bogeyman.

That's a hard working if. A dollar per year from a majority of Twitter users is a few dollars. I think it's probably about the money.

Why do many microwave ovens hum in an interval of a minor 7th?
Reply in thread
Microwaves are fantastic cooking tools, and I'm pretty confident you're not using yours to its potential. Defrosting, reheating, steaming, boiling. Does it all in half the time with half the mess. All those settings on the keypad do something good. Most people just wack a few numbers in and let the microwave literally cremate the food on full power. Those reheat and defrost settings apply microwave then switch to low or no power, leaving the applied heat to radiate internally before repeating. Different densities and starting temperatures are accounted for.
Obviously you wouldn't cook a stir fry or a steak in a microwave. Potatoes before roasting though? Dumplings? Frozens? Yes please Mike.

This bracelet was given as a gift to my 6yo daughter yesterday by some very Catholic family members. I have so many questions. Thankfully, my daughter didn’t. I wouldnt have known how to answer them.
My 5 yr old came home from school last week asking about heaven, as at least one of her friends are catholic. It's chilling how little control over religion you have when it comes to younger kids, and it's the age where indoctrination is most effective. It's tough to know what to say...
there are tons of adults who think they have the same imaginary friend who really doesn't exist.
people look for balance to the idea of their own mortality so they made up religion, then it was coopted by those looking to assume its authority.
friend's parents are wrong and their dog/grandma didn't go to heaven cause it doesn't exist.
Obviously not those haha. Good luck though with your little one!

Why the cost of living crisis will not get better
Reply in thread
it was the specific reference to established people not having as many children that is a common neo-nazi dog whistle, then you assert that immigrants are having 8 kids and living on government handouts. Anecdotally the only people I've ever seen having 8 kids and living of government handouts is Shazza down the road, true blue Aussie.

Environmental damage from emissions doesn't care about relative efficiency, 15 free miles is objectively more than 5 free miles.

Glad I could help, if you're looking to try it out and have a spare usb lying around you can try a live version. That loads the OS into ram and allows you to try out the os. most(maybe all) linux distros have one. Fair warning it will be noticeably faster than everything due to running off ram. if you like it enough you can install it alongside Windows, then if you're completely sold you can use the live disk again to expand the Linux partition over Windows.
Here is the neon download page. It has instructions for making a live usb.
ps. i may have also undersold kde, they also have a whole suite of neat applications they've made for their os

oh jeez lol I've never had a Linux fight. I picked kde neon because I love the ui and neon is bleeding edge for plasma updates. being based on Ubuntu which I was already familiar with sealed the deal. it's very comfortable for Windows users out of the box,and can be customised further into a visual clone of Windows 10/11. I've had a great time gaming on it, very little set up for amd.

Just here for accuracy, paragraph 3 addresses your last paragraph and matches your tone rather elegantly.

No there isn't a difference, and you're massively racist to see one. You didn't even include western countries to seem impartial, you just hate that brown people exist in your country. Tough cookies bud, they're here, they're richer and smarter and more valued by society than you. It also probably won't change in your favour.

Why many texting apps still don't let you choose specific parts to copy from a message?
LineageOS auto selects any number groupings in a text and displays them on the notification for one click copy. Super handy, I remember the pain though.
