Why have we as a society just accepted the increasingly blinding bright lights of cars?
I know I'm not the only one who feels like I'm getting visually assaulted everytime I drive at night. It was bad 10 years ago but now, it seems like headlight manufacturers have a deal with insurance companies and optometrists to make the lights as bright as possible. Is this ever going to stop or is there some kind of race in the headlight industry to see who can reproduce the power of the sun first?
What's a part of your current life that your 10 year old self might not even believe is true if you travelled back in time and told them?
Stuff like having a smart phone, development of chatGPT, current events, etc.
Is there a word for people who will mess something up and blame the victim for it?
For example, my car is parked in a single lane driveway, mom's car is in the garage, she opens the garage door, zooms backwards and puts a hole in my front bumper with her trailer hitch. Then she comes inside to wake me up and yell at me. Is that just an extension of narcissism or what words are there to describe someone like that?
Does anyone else feel irritated when deeply religious people connect everything with god?
For example, you put yourself through university by studying hard and working full time. Then someone says, you should thank god for giving you the strength. Like wtf do you mean, I busted my ass day in and day out but I'm supposed to thank god for it?
What would you go do right now if money, responsibilities, and health weren't a thing
I want to travel the world doing food challenges at restaurants
What's your favourite book you were made to read in school?
I thought old man and the sea was boring and pointless when I had to read it in grade 7 but 20+ years later, it hits me hard.
What's YOUR food hack?
I've never seen anyone else do this either irl or in a video but I'm sure lots of people do it. When I make a grilled cheese I mayo both slices then put both slices in the pan at the same time rather than stacked in sandwich form so it takes half the time to cook and I don't need to flip it.
Do you close doors when you live by yourself?
I've got this horrible neighbour upstairs who might possibly be the loudest person in the western hemisphere. Walking around in heels for hours at a time, phone rings so loud that it's more effective at waking me up than my alarm, constantly screeching furniture around all day everyday, blasting the same annoying movie at random times, and slamming doors every 15 minutes.
The apartment isn't even that bad for noise seperation, I never hear the neighbours beside me or the ones under me. This woman is just annoying and I've gone upstairs before to tell her to stop blasting music at midnight in the middle of the week, she treated me like I was the maniac for having the audacity to knock on her door.
As I'm laying in bed last night after getting woken up and hoping today is the day she drops dead, I was wondering why she even needs to close doors. When I lived alone I don't think I ever closed doors, maybe the bathroom on occasion but this old woman lives by herself with no pets yet she's constantly slamming doors. Do people normally close doors often when they live alone?
Is the "Gen z stare" a real thing?
As an early 90's millennial, I've never noticed a "gen z stare" as described in news articles like a "blank face that shows lack of social skill or ability to think". The only times I've witnessed it happen and seen the older person accuse them of "gen z stare" is when the older person says something off hand or dumb but isn't self aware enough to realize they're being weird. Hell, I've given people a blank face countless times because I was taught it was better to say nothing at all sometimes. Especially when it came to talking to older people at work.
I remember when I was 16, some middle aged guy at work accused me of having no personality. In reality, I kept all conversations short as possible with him (like almost everyone in the store) because they were casually racist and misogynistic.
What occupations do you consider scummy?
Like you trust these people as far as you can throw them.
Any Lemmings that have been regular fasters for at least a couple years? What's your first hand experience and opinion on fasting for health benefits?
I don't meant for weight loss, I mean health benefits as in autophagy, clearing out toxins, giving your organs a break type stuff
