I just rewatched Altered Carbon and I love the idea of the magnetic fletchette pistol, mainly because it's not too unrealistic. A pistol that launches rounds using mag lev and the rounds can be recalled on command putting them right back into the magazine. Too bad he only uses it like twice in the show.

This got me thinking about how this is not the case for gun make and models for shootings. The only thing you ever hear is handgun, semi-automatic, or the scary assault rifle. Does the manufacturer of an AR-15 matter, not really, but caliber and gun type sometimes do.

Most new electric vehicle plants in the US are only working at most 50% capacity due to lack of customer demand. People can blame lack of parts and lack of workers, but one thing I know about this industry is that if people want them then they are going to keep building them regardless of circumstance.

I recieved a link on teams and my phone took over 20 seconds to load while my work computer did it instantly and both were on the same wifi. Sometimes it will just refuse to open posts on marketplace, so I have to use my computer.

There's an abductee account from the 70s or 80s where a logger claims he saw a craft when he was out in the woods and when he approached it, it blasted him back with some kind of energy blast. He disappeared for a few days and when he showed up again he claimed that aliens abducted him and repaired any damage they did to him and just dropped him back off. Yep, updated Sunday night after I pushed off the notifications for months. I feel like they punish you for making them do it too, because it turned my alarm off and I was late to work because of it. Funny how my last phone, an S8 never had the issue of me having to unlock my phone to initialize start up after restart.

Our hiring manager just flat out sucks at his job, rarely ever see him interviewing people and I know of several coworkers who have dropped their friends resumes on his desk and he never follows up with these recommendations. One of his main jobs is to keep in contact with our student co-ops and let them know their start dates after each semester, he doesn't reach out to them and actually dodges their calls. Now here is the real shocker, he is untouchable because he is the former owners son.

So, I noticed the past few months he's been interviewing a lot more than the past few years, pretty obvious because he gives a building tour after each interview. I was talking to my secretary about it and she told me he got a real ass chewing because current ownership found out, after the fact, that his request to work from home ALL OF DECEMBER was actually a request to work from my vacation house in Florida, dudes barely older than I am and he just lives life on easy mode.

One of my favorite fan theories is that the authors did not name the ship after the horse from don quixote directly. There is a Rush song called Cygnus X-1 that's basically a space opera and the ship in that song is called the Rocinate, and one of the authors of The Expanse is a huge rush fan. So in my mind that is where the ships name comes from.

A few years back my family and I went to my cousins wedding a few states away, we decided on driving rather than flying due to covid airfare prices. So it was my mom, dad, brother, niece, and myself. My brother and I were both in our late twenties at this point in time so it was kinda weirdly nostalgic.

Anyway, on our way back from the wedding, we were driving through the cornfields of Pennsylvania when we noticed a few oddly parked cars on the side of the road. It was near a stop sign so we had plenty of time to figure out what was going on. A guy on a bicycle was hit by a car and laying on his back surrounded by people on the side of the road.

My mom is a nurse so I immediately asked her if we should pull over, she thought about it for a few seconds and said no we are meeting your sister in Cleveland for dinner and we can't be late. So we kept on driving. A few minutes later, she looks back and realizes how selfish of a decision she just made right in front of my 8 year old niece, so she says we should all pray for the man. Me and my brother just looked at eachother in awe as she proceeds to recite the Hail Mary.

Surprisingly, some of the most vocal Republicans are against this. MTG and Tucker Carlson have both come out against it. I saw that Tucker interviewed Ted Cruz yesterday about the Iran situation and I had to listen to it. I really can't stand Tucker but I have to admit he grilled Cruz in a way I really admired, making a fool out of him simply by asking to explain the reasoning behind his viewpoints. Thoroughly entertaining, highly reccomend.

My answer is probably Cyberpunk2077, I bought it on accident since it was in my cart on the day Silksong released. Luckily it was on sale at that time. Tried playing it on my ps4 pro and it was struggling so I put it aside and plan on playing it whenever I get a new console. So I started silksong instead which is ironically the first new game I bought in over 5 years.

My work occasionally has me go on site to automotive plants. I'll tell you what, I fucking love walking around them and looking at the incredible feat that is a vehicle assembly line. Sometimes I go when it's running production and sometimes I go on down days where it's basically empty, both are equally amazing.

Can't tell if this is satire, but it does get political and dramatic later in the season. Flashbacks to pre-war seen through Walton Goggins who plays the ghoul. The violence though, that does not slow down and I loved it.

Michigander here, my buddy has a cabin in this town and I'd go up north a few times a year for a long weekend on the river. He also has some family that have lived in Big Rapids forever. His uncle, red as they come, was telling me he thought it was a great idea to bring in more jobs to a smaller college town and that was the general sentiment of the town.

He also told me that the "No Go On Gotion" movement was started by some wealthy realtor that was salty that Gotion bought up the property surrounding their luxury estate and horse farm to build low cost housing for the future workers. Driving into town there's an entire road lined with anti-gotion signs on one side, and it just so happens that is the edge of the realtors property.
