With so many cops why would it rely on the honour system ?

I mean it should be the cops kicking out people off bike lanes... We have assholes like that in the EU but they sometimes get a fine for it and eventually some stop doing that kind of shit.

The problem is that it's not enforced by your police forces.

Europe is looking to fight the flood of Chinese electric vehicles. But Europeans love them

Reply in thread

Exactly.

Europeans like Chinese electric vehicles because they are affordable.

Meanwhile European manufacturers are probably pushing behind the scene to restrict the Asian competitors on the market so they can decide what price is right.

In the next months in France they will reduce the subsidies for Electric Vehicle with a poor CO2 bill like imported Chinese cars.

So even less people will get to afford EVs.

I don't think this is just about cheap Chinese labor importing cheap Chinese cars to Europe. It's also about Europe ignoring the importance of battery tech and manufacturing for decades and suddenly acting all surprised that we are not competitive.

Now you know to double check file types.

When I was a kid I visited my grandparents and since there was still only Internet Explorer on their terrible computer I decided to install Firefox.

Unfortunately the computer power supply died right after I did.

Therefore my Firefox installation was determined to be the root cause of the computer being ruined.

So yeah, Firefox apparently kills power supplies in some folklore.

400+ Arch Linux AUR Packages Compromised in a Supply Chain Attack Deploying Infostealers

I hope all the Arch based distros will do a proper post to inform their users on how to cleanup afterwards.

I'm hoping at least cachyos, the distro I use, will tell me exactly how to check and clean my system.

I remember that when I installed a few of my AUR package, I was well aware that this repo was pretty much unregulated and that I just have to trust it's safe. So I made sure to only use AUR as a last resort. But there was warnings on cachyos that were displayed to tell me to be cautious about it so that's at least a positive.

Linux 6.6 To Better Protect Against The Illicit Behavior Of NVIDIA's Proprietary Driver

Reply in thread

Just a perspective on why people would support NVIDIA here:

  • They don't believe in copyright law so they don't mind whoever infringe on them. Especially since here it would make the proprietary driver work better.

  • They do care about copyright law but think having a working driver outweighs respecting them.

Not my opinion here just saying that for some people usability trumps any other aspects.

Lots Of Love

I just thought about the "Duh it's fake" comments that were slowly inching me to insanity on reddit.

Please don't bring this over to Lemmy. Please.

80% of popular posts had a popular comment saying something is staged or fake. It's so uninteresting, unoriginal and beating a dead horse so to say. Even for litteral movie scenes we had popular comments saying it's staged.

Sorry for the rant and it's not particularly for your comment. It just was a massive trend I noticed on certain subreddits. Could probably farm karma just making a bot saying some variation of "it's fake" to every posts.
