Trump Explodes on Reporter: 'You Haven't Asked Me One F-cking Positive Question'

“You haven’t asked me one fucking positive question,” he said. “All of this. What about this? What about that? What about that? What about this? All negative.”

The president had been asked about whether Mitch McConnell should resign from the Senate because of his health issues. Trump responded by indicating that videos of McConnell struggling were a “disappointment to a lot of Republicans,” before noting that “Sleepy Joe gave pardons to everybody.” He then exploded, questioning why they were asking about the White House renovations so much, and griping that they hadn’t asked him about Venezuela. Time pointed out that they talked about Venezuela at length earlier in the interview.

“I don’t understand. I’m sitting here. I’ve done all this stuff,” Trump said. “I took the White House and made it beautiful again.”

Here's a positive question about his deeds that a reporter should ask:

Mr. President, how good did it feel to rape children?

‘The most uneducated buffoon in history stands at a podium, bloated with self-importance, lips pursed like a carnival barker ready to sell turd milk to the unsuspecting. He grins a grotesque smirk stretched across his face as he scrawls his name onto a hollow decree, a sham celebration of the dismantling of knowledge itself. The Department of Education falls, not with a bang, but with wheezing verbs, suffocated under the weight of his own staggering ignorance. Surrounding him are the usual suspects: cowards in expensive suits, servile sycophants clapping like trained seals, and racist opportunistic ghouls picking clean the bones of democracy. Liars, fools, and thieves all parasites fattening themselves on the hardships of the many. They stand in rigid formation, dead-eyed and soulless, their allegiance sworn not to country, not to principle, but to power, and the dark, festering rot that clings to it. And there he is the convicted wrong, the living embodiment of septic tank spew, his voice a noxious fog of grift and grievance. He lectures the world on right and wrong, irony clawing at the walls, desperate to escape the grotesque theatre of his moral void. The stomach turns, the air curdles, and for a moment, history itself recoils watching, in horror, as the great American experiment teeters on the precipice, led by a man who couldn't spell "precipice" if his life depended on it.’

I've got a nice etrike. I haven't tried to get it on the train yet, but if I can I will be able to access most of Northern California, instead of the 30 mile radius around me

Honestly I only use the car like once a week, and it's for a rehearsal I could probably take the train to

1
lemmy.world

Just avoid taking that on during commute time. Those things don’t fit compactly into the bike rack, and they piss everyone off during commute hours.

3
lemmy.world

The fact that I exist pisses a lot of people off so honestly if they can't make that small an accommodation, it's on them

0

I guess is depends on how busy your train system is. In my city we’re packed in like sardines during commute hours, and during those busy times those things create situations where people can’t get in and out and properly.

Technically the train conductor and police are supposed to keep an eye out for that shit and make sure bikes don’t block aisles and doors, but they don’t and the wide and long bikes often block mobility when trains are packed.

I commute with something pretty slim that easily tucks into the train racks.

Until recently, I wanted Trump to join Our Lord Jesus Christ as promptly as possible.

Now... I kind of dig it. He is openly legally impaired, with sagging stroke face and hungry piggy eyes; everything he does is excruciatingly humiliating for all Americans.

So, now, I want him to live out the rest of his term, and publicly rant and suffer and bloat and curse the world with screaming rages. I want everyone to watch.

I want the whole world to see... THIS is why you limit the powers of a President. THIS is why you should remove your Nixon's from office. LOOK AT THIS

41

Yeah, no. The rest of the world was sick of this cunt before he even made it to president.

1

“I used to wonder how it was possible that Trump could have won in 2016 and then again in 2024, given how emotionally toxic, morally vacant, and psychologically mangled he is. I do not wonder anymore. He won for that exact reason. He was not a candidate. He was a mirror. If you were a racist, you found your guy. If you were a misogynist, you found your guy. If money was your only religion, you found your guy. If your heart was armoured shut, you found your guy. If you mocked disabled people, you found your guy. If you hated intelligent people, you found your guy. If you were a rapist, you found your guy. If you enjoyed golden showers with Russian sex workers, you found your guy. If you had done absolutely nothing to confront your emotional wreckage, you found your guy. If you were a serial cheater, you found your guy. If you were a perpetual bankrupt, you found your guy. If you stiffed honest workers, you found your guy. If you were a conman, you found your guy. If you mocked people’s appearances, you found your guy. If you longed for a toxic Daddy, you found your guy. If you were dissociated and disembodied, you found your guy. If you were unconscionable in every economic dealing, you found your guy. If you lied as naturally as breathing, you found your guy. If you had never eaten a green vegetable, you found your guy. If you were a white supremacist, you found your guy. If your ego contained a hole so large not even the presidency could fill it, you found your guy. If you were a sociopath who cared not one molecule about other humans, you found your guy. If he had only two of these traits, he never would have won. He won because he had hundreds of them, and millions of people recognized themselves in at least one. This has never been about Trump. It has always been about the people who finally had their worst instincts validated. Trump did not create the cruelty, he licensed it. He handed out permission slips for hate. He is merely a symptom of a far deeper disease: collective toxicity. If there is one sentence that explains Trump’s power, it is this: “He says the things I’m thinking.” That is the part that should chill the spine. Who knew that tens of millions of Americans were thinking such unconscionable things about their fellow citizens? Who knew how many white men felt so threatened by women and challenged by minorities that they were ready to torch democracy to feel big again? Who knew that after decades of apparent progress on race and gender, so many people were living in seething resentment, waiting for a demagogue to legitimize their worst selves and convert their bitterness into political power? We were living in a fool’s paradise. We aren’t anymore." — Michael Jochum

Personally, I want him to live long enough to prosecute his end of a 2nd American Civil War. The corruption and chaos he would cause the Dogey Confederacy, would save the lives of many good people.

I have ONE.

He's been president for a total of 8 6 years, and there's been ONE policy that I've seen him pass that

  1. Is actually a good thing, I think

  2. Isn't something that I would expect someone to do just by virtue of having a brain. (e.g., Operation Warp Speed was good, but also I would expect any moderately intelligent person to do the same.)

That one thing is establishing a sovereign wealth fund.

1

The only thing I think was good was pushing NATO to step up their spending. Look at us go now. Most members are meeting their commitments and we took it so seriously we're starting to build our own industrial defence bases, with blackjack and hookers!

2
quokk.au

“Mr President, do you think the world will be better off when you are dead?”

That question carries the possibility that he'd wiggle out and say something like, "the world would be much diminished without me!"

Question should eliminate that route by asking something like "what is the most substantial benefit the world will see when you die?"

One thing I learned growing up with an authoritarian father, you never challenge them, otherwise all hell breaks loose. I eventually learned that when dad's voice got that distinctive tone and volume that indicated negative emotions, it was best to get up and leave and go to my room. This doesn't work for a US President however, though it may work for a King.

40
lemmy.zip

One thing I learned growing up with an authoritarian father

One thing I learned about bullies is that they continue bullying until you stop them. I was fortunate in being able to train, and also getting my growth spurt a bit earlier than them. Because of those, the tide turned.

And luckily my parents were decent people who never pulled any of that authoritarian shit on me. Sorry you had to endure that.

42
lemmy.ca

One thing I learned, for some reason being a bully magnet, was: know your bully.

Stopping them requires a different approach for each bully. Some respond to direct force, some respond to a lack of response, some respond to being verbally humiliated in front of their peers. I haven’t figured out the best one for Trump yet.

11

Donnie seems to have all the traits of a narcissist.

Ever try to get a narcissist to apologize in good faith (not the "I'm sorry if you took offense" non-apology, I mean) for something they did, and they know they should be ashamed of and that they know you know?

Narcissists are great at putting on a big show, love-bombing people they just met in many instances, and people that are rather naive or unfamiliar with this sort of thing will be taken in by it, and could not possibly believe that person could ever be nasty or vicious.

People that have to be around them a lot and try to nail them down on the veracity of something they are saying, or actions they took that they don't want to own up to?

You'll see that narcissist act like a cornered animal. Everything will be turned around on the person speaking, and the person trying to nail them down? Lucky to get a word in edge-wise amidst the person talking/yelling over them, usually consisting of abusive language and even threats of violence.

Maybe practiced Buddhism and become a monk to lay bare and put to rest all his demons, rather than continue to gorge them. Were I a better person, I could probably feel sympathy for whatever soul he has left, tortured continuously by his crushing insecurity. But I'm not, instead relishing his realization that he'll eventually die completely and utterly unloved by the entire world. It's unfortunate he'll probably try to feed his demons before that happens with as many human lives as he can. Wonder if anyone will resist his insane order to use nuclear weapons when it eventually comes before January 2029.

Were I a better person, I could probably feel sympathy for whatever soul he has left, tortured continuously by his crushing insecurity

Erroneous beliefs. There is no soul, first of all (if I'm wrong, the burden of proof is on you).

But even if you weren't being literal, this man is empty inside.

2

The tantrum at not receiving any positive feedback hinted to me there's something in there that cares about recognition and appreciation. I'm no scholar of the human soul, but something about that response signaled to me there is a broken and tortured consciousness down there seeking validation through outside admiration. If the shell were entirely soulless, I would have expected indifferent disdain. Instead, I sense a frustrated child trying to win attention from his parents. The absence of adoration is under his skin and eroding the foundation of his entire ego as he senses the finality of his existence approaching. Should have stuck to being a rich private citizen, where the fawning was easy to buy and criticism easy to ignore.

1

I'm not sure narcissists really get better. Is that a thing? I don't really know.

In my experience, none of them have the self-awareness, seemingly, to seek out self-improvement to end their narcissism. And why would they? They've been operating that way all their lives, and some people are just users of others, so why would they want to fix something they figure is just a way of life? And that's people without billions allegedly to their name.

In many cases it just seems to fly under the radar. Siblings, co-workers, parents, kids, spouses - they all eventually figure out there is something "wrong" with the narcissist, and that it is not actually them at fault. The narcissist usually perfects the art of gaslighting others into thinking they are imagining stuff.

3

I remember a bit in the daily show where they went back in time to do that but everyone had lame haircuts so time travelers opted out.

1

Cuz shit sucks. You're a poor leader, but as a rich person, you surround yourself with yes men so you never have to experience the consequences of your transgressions. And now you're taking money from my pocket.
