China has introduced a drone that flies like a bird. The new invention could turn the drone industry upside down
Reply in thread
Maybe that was the misunderstanding. Is was never a conspiracy. It was a prophecy.

Arc raiders is a horrible game
While I agree that it’s a bit disingenuous to call it’s a PvE game I do think that the feel of it is on the PvE side a lot of the times (but considerably less than half of the time). Especially since the ARC robots are so well done. And I don’t encounter other players in a meaningful way every game.
However, I don’t agree at all that it’s a horrible game. I think that it’s a fantastic game! It’s just released and it has some issues. Apart from a couple of small issues I think it’s a game that does the genre extraction shooting great, runs great, and is the first game in quite a while that feels done and polished and not rushed in any way.
Regarding the shot-on-sight and camping I think it’s a double edged sword. Of course it doesn’t feel good to die, especially by camping. But it would not feel good to extract if there was no risk/stress before doing so.

sorry for the commercial
Well, of course smaller studios can charge less for their product in order to make a profit. Their expenditures has to be a lot less, and hence they need to make less money to make a profit.

Nice to see that he’s been promoted up from Assistant to the Regional Manager!

As a Swede I can attest to that the biggest difference is when approaching 0°C or around 0°. It’s due to the air humidity. There’s still a bit humidity in the air around 0° but when that’s gone you don’t feel too big of a difference after that.

I switched 3 months ago and have the same experience as you. Got on the $25 tier that has access to all AI assistants/GPT models through their “Kagi Assistant”. So I basically swapped my ChatGPT subscription for the Kagi one which also has the search.
What’s nice is that I can maniacally search for stuff I’m looking into without them being bombarded by ads for it for a month after. Feels refreshing!
Would recommend.

Is Lemmy becoming too ideologically homogeneous? Thoughts on political diversity in the Fediverse.
Reply in thread
I think you provide the perfect example of what OP is talking about.
In my experience this kind of comments and “far left” views are the norm on Lemmy. I think that in this regard Reddit had (I have not been there since the API shutdown) a much more balanced and wide spectra of political views. Not to mention that everything wasn’t political there. Here I feel like everything takes a “far left”/Marxist turn.
To me, this homogenous political environment turns me off and is one of the primary factors behind me not really using Lemmy that much.
To be clear I do not think that your views should be silenced and whatnot. Just agreeing that this is indeed a “far left” echo chamber.

[Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - September 2025
I bought the original Hollow Knight after the great reception of Silksong. Needed a game to play on my recent flight.
I have never played a platformer like this since I was a child and played Super Mario on the BGA. But I like it a lot!

Does Lemmy really benefit from Rust? Is code execution speed the bottleneck?
Reply in thread
Different languages do excel at different architectures / designs. Either through performance or how the code is written.
But yeah, sometimes people make too much of a deal of which language something is written in. And it becomes a discussion of trends or personal favorites instead.
I bet the hardest thing is finding devs who are actually proficient in Rust.

Which are your favorite podcasts about programming?
I enjoy The Primagens podcast “The Standup”. It’s on the ramblier/sillier side, but it features some serious discussions as well.

D4: As a heads up, not all towns are created equal, and the return to town hotkey is probably wasting your time.
Maybe it’s because I spent most time there, but I think that Kyovashad is the nicest hub. It’s the only town where I don’t have to check the map find anything.

As I understood it they have explicitly made that the deal with the voice actors. To use their voices for training a model and use for generating voiced dialogue in game. Which leads me to believe that the voice actors have probably been compensated fairly and on agreed upon terms.
This makes it different than just buying/using general voice models that has just scraped the internet of audio content and never hiring or compensating any voice actors.

Xbox One controller/wireless adapter driver xone 3.1 released.
Reply in thread
If you use the wireless adapter this is required. I mainly use Linux but sometimes boot into Windows. Hence it’s easier to use the adapter and have it paired with the singular thing, than to re-pair it with Linux/Windows each switch.

`Hope sex will eventually be acknowledged as a sport`: Group in Sweden to hold a sex championship, each ‘match’ to last for 45-60 mins

I have heard it on multiple occasions in Swedish podcasts. Apart from the the other response you got with a source from the Swedish Sports Confederation, I found you some news articles on it. They are in Swedish, since it’s the source.
Here’s his first inquiry to get it classified as a sport: https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/strippkungen-vill-att-sex-klassas-som-sport-riksidrottsforbundet-rasar And here’s on the sex event he wants to hold:

He’s known for these kinds of things in Sweden. He has gotten in a fight with McDonald’s over logo infringement with his strip club sign:

Let’s talk about your favorite side quests
The two that came to mind was the ones you brought up. Especially “By Three They Came”. I didn’t understand at first where it was going. But as soon as I understood that it ties into the intro cinematic I was floored!
But there’s a quest chain in Zarbinzet where a girl is possessed, which was quite cool.

What does "consuming a corpse" mean as it pertains to the skill Grim Harvest?
I thought that both raising a skeleton and using corpse explosion consumed a corpse. I know for sure that corpse explosion generates essence for me. And I’m 90% sure that raise skeleton does as well.
However, corpse tendrils does not consume a corpse.
